You must like your headstock oriented towards your feet?

i might go 36, im gonna play another 36 scale length this weekend just to make sure im cool with it, i just worry about powerchords/5th chords hurting my hands after awhile. for single notes long scale length is fine, just dont wanna stretch my hands too far. and im not doing the T-bird headstock, itll be his standard one (i wanted a longer one but its another upcharge, and as much as i dont mind neckdive, im asking for major trouble with that one).
 
Thinner neck, easier to fret. It's a little further of a reach, but the thinner neck makes it way more comfortable to play/hold down chords.

I've never liked thin necks in the past, they never felt substantial in play-ability or tone compared to 70's baseball bat neck basses. But the aluminum feels so much more solid, so it's easier to play since it's much thinner, but I still have the substantial feeling of a bigger neck, and the tone is just awesome.

This is one of the things I was really unsure about the Dingwall. It was a thinner neck, and it is 37" scale. I was used to the fat necks on my Stingray, and have historically not liked thin necks. The combination of thing neck and longer scales feels right to me though.



Also, for some reason, I now have access to TB at work again. Datassian be praised!

Busy week coming up, I'm helping my wife's mother move on wedneday, have a show on saturday, then leaving sunday morning bright and early for the trek to Mississippi. In between all of that I need to get a rental car for the Peavey trip, do laundry, pack, pick up the truck for moving, reserve a storage unit, replace a headlight assembly on my car... and work. No rest or relaxation for quite a while.

Like what you want. But if you are going to flip flop between alluding to specs and listening with your eyes, then I will call you on your sh!t. I hate circular faith based arguments.
Yeah, that guy's train of thought is pretty strange.

Is a turret board style amp going to be easier than a PCB amp for a tech to fix when it breaks? Sure. But if they're spec'd the same, they should sound very similar, if not identical. We're not talking about things that are really that individualized here. Two amps that have the same parts, and same circuit, with one being PCB and one being turret board, will probably sound almost exactly the same.

There's no special magic fairy dust that makes amps sound good. They're just a bunch of electrical components wired up together. If it sounds good, it's because the circuit is a good design, and the components are good and within spec for that design. If it sounds bad, either it's a crappy design, or the components are out of spec or low quality or both.
