Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I think I'm gonna roll with Arctic white on the Hondo body, keep everything chrome and cream pickup covers, knobs, and toggle switch. Might even consider some kind of white inlays on the EGC neck.

I Got an all white p bass with maple neck and white block inlays and binding. Looks really good. I want to get a Chrome bridge and pickup cover for it someday probably.

Jammed with my guitarist and drummer yesterday. I think we've got our 3 songs for our next release locked down. Did some up to date recordings with the zoom and the tracks are sounding rad. Really excited to get them recorded. Probably hitting the studio in February.

Test stain of the black artist oil. Think it will give me the transparent black look and show off the grain of the body. One good coat on the body then I will do 12 more of the gun oil over it. What an easy way to stain wood.

Haven't seen Filmage yet, our drummer is a BIG Descendents/ALL fan and he went and saw it when it played in a theater and he bought it recently. So I am sure I will be seeing it soon.

What's your method of application?

Getting my first bass back hopefully soon. I know it's gonna be all kinds of messed up and it's a squier affinity p bass. I want to just refinish it into a trashy bass.

I was thinking of this heat gun method of poly finish removal I saw once. The only warning was you might char or overly darken areas of the finish. Which I think would look cool with a like stain and oil finish.

Oh, and I woke up to an email saying my jag will be here tomorrow instead of Wednesday, I love prime...
