If the cabs can handle it, the 600 watt amp will be louder on a meter. Perceived loudness may differ due to mid range harmonics. The fender has a mid scoop, that changes how loud the amp is heard.

Got the Squier p-bass special with the X2N-7 hacked in put back together and had a quick chance to plug it in. Alone and clean, the X2N7 sounds FAT. Just thick meat, plenty of lows, plenty of mids. Geezer on Master of Reality fat. And yeah it crunches though some preamp gain. I'll report back more when I've had a chance to compare it to her sister axe, the other squier with the GFS lil killer hot rails thing in the bridge.

gonna wait till the halloween show, it's the first show we've played that hasn't been outdoors or in a huge museum, i think i'll have a better gauge of my volume in that smaller club with a stage

Fun weekend. Went to Sam Ash and GC yesterday and diddled a Yamaha Attidue pj five string, and a Blacktop Precision, through an Aquilar tone hammer rig and the new Fender Rumble 15 inch combo. Man that Yammie was nice and had a great low B. Jan you were right those new Rumbles sound sweet and dug the onboard overdrive, like the Rumble combo better than the all Aquilar stack. Also picked up that Greyscale Hellcat Rat clone. Man the thing is sweet on bass and guitar too much better than the Alpha Dog I used to have. Also got some work done on the Jazzbird, should be ready to sand and maybe start staining tomorrow. Had some leftover tele parts so made use of them. Have a small gap between the bttom of the neck pickup route and the end of the control plate but no idea what to do about that other than say oh well.

Hmmmm EGC neck talk has me thinking. EGC neck for the V and make it into a bass VI, it may be to too short to make it into a low tuned bass but its perfect for a low tuned guitar. Dat metallic paint with chrome neck, mmmmmmm.


Also someone posted a snippet of video from Galactic Hatchets first show on our Facebook if any of you are interested in that sorta thing. We should be trying to pooply record a demo tomorrow, if it's poopy enough well make a bandcamp so theres that too.

Got my jaguars wiring figured out. Stock PJ pickups, Two on-on-off switches and two jacks for two seperate pickup circuits. This will be for B tuning and bronco will stay in standard.

Speaking of been doing so much bead jamming, and I'm finally AB'ing the infamous bluebeard muff fuzz and the unfamous danelectro fabtone distortion. Since I always rave about it, now people with the more popular BB can get an understanding via common ground.

Amp is a GK mb500 as such: 10db pad switch on, gain at 50%, treble at 50%, hi and low mids at 100%, bass at 65% and volume at 25%.

These settings come the closest to each other. Notice full power bluebeard with no tone is just as loud (but still kinda losing) to the fabtone, at a hair over 25% volume!

The fabtone is nuts like I always figured, In fact I usually zero the treble on the fabtone but in B into the gk it's just extra definition. The BB at no tone has a more present tone, I cannot say if it's because it has less lows than the fab or just more highs? Regardless this gives the sensation of more lows with the fab. Also the fab was maxed distortion (fab) and they were pretty equal though the BB seemed slightly dirtier from the fizzier nature of the more present highs, but it was tapped out where as the fabtones gains hardly up.

Fab into the daddy-o seems like it'll be my preferred setup as it gives a very full range filth.
