Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Well after 40 false teeth are ok. I am always the dork when my buddies are saying look at the vintage Mustang or Camaro, I am the guy saying look at the Baja Bug all done up proper. Still want a Baja Bug, Dune Buggy, or Volkswagen Thing.

Mom wouldn't let me get a thing as a first car she said I was not got gonna Die in a heap of twisted aluminum hitler-mobile :p

Ha ha ha. You could put a big hitler stache on the front bumper. The local garge in town, the owner loves Things and has a bunch at his shop all the time. Plus since I live coastal there are a small amount of dune buggies and sand rails around.

I'm waiting on a guy from CL to get back to me about buying my Ampeg 410HLF. Hopefully he doesn't flake, but I just put the ad up yesterday. I had to move it in storage to get something and realized I have an Ampeg 810e, two Duallies and my DIY 110 at home...do not need the 410 for anything and I'm low on cash. I'm also thinking about selling my '80 Gibson SG Standard that I spruced up and got refinished in transparent brownburst almost 10 years ago. I haven't even played it in like 2 years.

Can you get to the ocean from your town? And is it water you'd go into voluntarily when sober? Also didn't know what a sand rail was but I want one now!

If I put a mustache on the thing Wouldn't the title by default go over to Max?

No I am on the Chesapeake Bay so open ocean is blcoked by the Eastern Shore of Viginny. Yeah you can swim in it, when the jellyfish aren't too bad. I kayak over to a little island and park the kayak and swim there.

Does anyone know Eyehategod, and approximately know how to get their bass tone?
Gary Mader's?
I've pretty much got Iron Monkey's and EHG is only a bit different. Sometimes they play dry and flat, other times, that's not the case.
Anyone know? Recommend any pedals?

I'd like to know too for certain.

They've had a few bass players and live vids always seem to be bass into an svt back line.

Take as needed for pain album is some good bass.

Lucky kayaking bastard

Is the bay like a brackish habitat, and hmm you should get a pet jelly.
Yep brackish, kind of changes, sometimes it gets real salty and you can smell it in the air. The guy directly behind me lives on the water, I am at the skinny end of the penninsula so water in three directions fairly close to me. We had a pet sea horse from the bay for a while, he would ride the wave of the filter over and over and we would go weeeeeee, yeah life is very exciting over here LOL.

I thought it was.. but I don't remember where at the moment..
However, let me see if I have a copy somewhere... we were close to "out"..

Edit: I reeeeeaaally shouldn't answer questions first thing in the morning.. of course I know where its streaming.... on my website (that I lost access to a few years ago... lol)
Link Removed
But... I'll still look for a copy.
On the site, it seems to be previews of the songs, not the whole thing. Like two minutes worth of each.

Oh, it does great with two heavy guitars jamming on the same riff haha.

Funny you mention that though, as we had to part ways with one of our guitarists this week. Major bummer. It was a mutual and friendly separation. Guy just has too much difficult **** going on in his life right now that prevents him from being in a band and we had to cut ties. We have two shows booked right now, which we'll probably play as a four piece, as we slowly try to find a replacemen.

That sucks man, I beat you guys wont need another guitarist, I love having only one guitarist, it allows so much more playing freedom and sonic space.

Seems logical. Yes.

Speaking of mustaches, Im working on the BasStache 2.0. The original was half assed and is starting to undo itself, so I have to straighten it out all the time. This new one is going to be much more lethal, porno sexy, and useful. Better in every way. Thinking of making it go over the strings and function as a string hold down as well. Made from brushed sheet metal that will pitina and rust. Attach it too a matching metal ric headstock cover.

Going to Austin for moms birthday this week. Dragging my bass vi, ibanez there to setup and rewire , along with that crate tube amp so I can crank it and find a new speaker with my dad. I'll also be modding my joyo voodoo octave fuzz for better octave up at least since it should be simple I just need my dad to explain the cap (polarity?) to me while looking at it.

My friends been secretly jamming hard on an acoustic and wants me to join in now that he feels more confident. He's a big vinyl collector and loves music, but is very new to the playing aspect and totally has no idea about gear, so the bass vi>fuzz>tube amp w/ reverb, is gonna blow him away I already know and make him run out and buy something he can actually plug in. Though I kinda dig on the idea of acoustic and the bass vi think it'd be a good mix with a lot of room for fun.
