Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Figured out VEGA has 78mins of music we want to fit on our debut. Well have 20ish hours to get all the instrument tracks recorded. Vox will come soon after. I think we can do it.

First practice running the Dunwich, DAT dubby bass. But I now realize I need a bigger power amp. I NEED MORE POWER!!! Looking for a mono power amp on the higher end under 1000watts. I really only see stereo amps, I'd really like a mono though.

Since you probably wont care about weight, there are tons of options out there for you. Most mono-block bass specific power amps are way over priced for what they are. Might have to suck it up and just run a stereo amp. On the bright side you can run one side, and hide it behind a stack of cabs.

I recommend you look for an older Cresh CA series amp. It pretty much set the industry standard.

Or you could find something like an old Peavey CS800. Totally your vibe.

An old cs800 is definitely on my radar

I can already smell the burnt voice coils.
You might be fine, knowing how many speakers you use.

So, for overnight band outing to the desert, so far, I have, in bag 1:

tent
foam pad
sleeping bag
toiletries (including toilet paper)
Small screwdriver and small hammer (for tent pegs).
Tiny shovel/trowel.

What else do I need besides clothes (and rig, obviously... which is already in the vocalist's jeep)?
Guns, lots of ammo, good fixed blade knife, thirst for human blood. That should set you.

You don't always carry a good knife?

Good folder every day. I'm a cheap bastard, so I found a US made Buck, with a 2 1/2" blade, stud opener, and a lock back for $22.00 at an Ace Hardware. I hate liner locks because I am left handed and they are all set up for righty. that goes in the front pocket next to the wallet. I have a bigger Benchmade for more dicey situations that I load up before leaving home.
