I've pretty much got Iron Monkey's and EHG is only a bit different. Sometimes they play dry and flat, other times, that's not the case.
Anyone know? Recommend any pedals?

I don't think they even think about it that much, probably whatever amp happens to be around and working.

Yeah, I don't disagree, I think I would enjoy playing with one guitarist more than two. It's certainly easier to jam out that way. I've actually never even been in a one guitar band haha.

But my guitarist and I had a lengthy discussion about it. He is way more comfortable with a second guitarist, and that second guitar is pretty vital to the Supervoid sound. The atmospheric layering it brought just can't really be pulled off live. Honestly I could go either way, but he's the main song writer in the band, and I have no issues deferring to what he wants to do.

We'll definitely be able to bang out the remaining booked shows as a four piece, and we're gonna be super picky about who we pick as the new guitarist. Luckily it won't affect our ability to record. It will be fine, I'm just not looking forward to the lengthy process of adding a new band member. I thought we were set, because our recording/mixing engineer digs our music and is a rad guitarist, but he doesn't think he can make the time commitment. We've got a few prospects lined up though.

I also prefer to play in single guitar bands. I like layered guitars and harmonies, but from a practical standpoint the fewer people in the band the better for me. Fewer schedules to work around, less gear to deal with on stage (or more room for more gear, depending on how you look at it) and more room to play around with my bass lines in the arrangement.

In my sludge/post metal band where we got 1 guitar and 1 noise/synth player i find myself getting plenty of room for bass . In the past in 2 guitar situations in hardcore or death metal bands of course there wasn't much space.

Offtopic : wanted to add a "serious" muff to my arsenal cause all that time all i got is an mxr m80 and some boss guitar dists . Wanted a Grey Stache but saw Eau Claire Thunder along the way and thinking of getting this instead. Any thoughts?

If anyone here is interested, I'm thinking about selling my '80 Gibson SG Standard guitar. Refinished in brown burst and totally refurbished about 10 years ago. I'll give anyone on here first crack at it, just starting to put up some ads.

Still looking at June? I'm still waiting for my package, apparently it's in CHAMPAIGN, IL. sigh. You seemed to be cool with people downloading you stuff. But I'm a little old school in that I like to hold something. I can't hold a download, well, technically I can download it, burn it onto a cd and hold that, but... Anyways, still waiting.

Yeah, for me it really depends on what the music is like. I generally write for a single guitar when I write 5th Child stuff, but Catapult the Dead wouldn't sound anything like we do with only one guitar.

Sometimes I actually feel I have to "hold down the low end" more in single guitar bands.

That's kinda why I don't use effects in The 5th Child, but do in Catapult the Dead.

I had an Dwarfcraft The Great Destroyer, quality was top notch, sold it only because it was too much pedal for me. That was then, now I feel I'd be able to control it better. I've played a Thunder in store and that was a great muff with that Dwarfcraft glitchy twist all his pedals seem to have.

Personally Id get a Greystache or Bluebeard though.

Is that the wizard fuzz? How are you setting the gain on it? Also what strings are you using these days?

Figured out VEGA has 78mins of music we want to fit on our debut. Well have 20ish hours to get all the instrument tracks recorded. Vox will come soon after. I think we can do it.

First practice running the Dunwich, DAT dubby bass. But I now realize I need a bigger power amp. I NEED MORE POWER!!! Looking for a mono power amp on the higher end under 1000watts. I really only see stereo amps, I'd really like a mono though.

Why 20 hours?

And can't you just use one side of the power amp or is it an aesthetic thing?
