Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Hey Eyeballkid, is Nagato's record streaming anywhere online, or would it be possible to get it?
I thought it was.. but I don't remember where at the moment..
However, let me see if I have a copy somewhere... we were close to "out"..

Edit: I reeeeeaaally shouldn't answer questions first thing in the morning.. of course I know where its streaming.... on my website (that I lost access to a few years ago... lol)
Link Removed
But... I'll still look for a copy.

So if a big act is coming through town and they have asked for the band to open, what should I do besides wait on promoter to reach out to us? I don't want to spoil the surprise, but the band in question has become a top three band for me since I heard them. I am in contact with them and know they asked for us. I don't like waiting. Any advice welcomed.

On another note, the tshirts got held up. Guess that's what happens when a friend is doing it for cost. We are also getting some tracks down on Saturday. Been a long time coming. Guitarist wants tapes, and he wants to pay for them, so I'm not arguing. We will ore than likely make this available as a bandcamp download. We are also getting buttons made soon. Things are starting to pick back up with spring and summer finally hitting Colorado.

Do you guys have any idea how damn hard it is to find an ampeg 300? Ya know, the rackmount tube power amp! Been looking for a long time and it seems noone in America is selling one... I guess thats a good thing, but ive been jonesin' for a tube power amp to slam with the JGR!

there was some other ampeg tube power amp I saw in the classified not long ago, don't think it was a 300 tho

Great tone very refined.
How does it do with both guitars all distorted and jamming the same riff? Seems like it might get buried but it could also mesh really well depending on your guitarists' tone choices.

Oh, it does great with two heavy guitars jamming on the same riff haha.

Funny you mention that though, as we had to part ways with one of our guitarists this week. Major bummer. It was a mutual and friendly separation. Guy just has too much difficult poopie going on in his life right now that prevents him from being in a band and we had to cut ties. We have two shows booked right now, which we'll probably play as a four piece, as we slowly try to find a replacement.

Damn I had to use craigslist for responsible adult stuff.

Since when is casual encounters responsible?

Oh no, was that the "effects guy" or the other one?

Dude, sucks to hear that. Y'all seemed to have a great thing going on.
Good luck finding FNG.

Maybe contact the promoter, let them know the band asked you and ask them if that's going to be a possibility. If you have some asset to bring to the show, that would probably be worth mentioning. If you have a mailing list or some way to promote beyond making a post on FB (like you've been promoting a contest, have new merch you've been promoting, etc.) whatever might be applicable that shows the promoter you're doing something for them as much as they're doing something for you. If you don't have anything, can't hurt to ask, if you're polite and not entitled in how you approach it.

Cool clip Laz, the tone is sounding sweet.

It was the effects guy. Not that I'd be happy with either of them leaving, but we should be able to continue pretty normally. The guitarist that is still with us is the song writer/creative drive behind Supervoid, so it would be really difficult to continue without him.
