Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I had a similar experience with a friend who decided to cut some electrical tape with a big knife straight toward his hand. I warned him not to do it (like I warn my wife, every time she cuts a bagel), but he shrugged it off. He sliced straight through the webbing between his thumb and forefinger, did a little quick "oh sh*t" face and ran to the bathroom to get something to staunch the bleeding. Then he passed out into the bathtub and had to be taken to the emergency room.

You blew my mind about the bagel as I was just going to type...
When I saw the Weedeater and Serpent Throne show the bassist in Serpent Throne had his middle finger all wrapped up. One of his band members said excuse this dipshite, he decided to stab himself this morning slicing a bagel LOL.

nothing that exciting yesterday, but i thought my dog got messed up pretty bad, because she was limping and seemed kind of disoriented, the pit broke her dew claw again and it was hanging there by a nerve or a blood vessel guess, i tried to help, which didn't really work, she just bit it off spit it on the floor and went off to sleep, i'm sure if i took her to the vet they would give me the whole 400 dollar treatment and return visit checkup, they are always telling me the dogs are going to die from some basic stuff just to get some more $
or they try to get you to pay major cash for treatment on animal that's basically DOA, jerks

One of our dogs dig that, girlfriend ran outside with baking soda and a fingernail clipper. It was broken so bad she just snipped the rest the nail off and doctored up the dog. One yelp and all is better.

Reminds me of the time one of my dumbass friends cut himself on the hand. He was living in different city about 40 minutes away, I had driven down there for a weekend of drinking/hanging out. I had just opened my 4th beer when he pushed the button on the switchblade he was playing with (the kind where the blade just pops straight up from inside the handle, not the hinged/stiletto kind), the blade popped up and seriously sliced the **** out of his hand. Duct tape and many paper towels - I drove his ass to the emergency room and we sat there for the rest of the night. He ended up getting many stitches. No bigger buzzkill than sitting in a small city emergency room on a friday night. Man, I was pissed.

When I was a kid, something happened to my knee and I couldn't walk, so my Mom drug me to the emergency room. I will never forget this dude sitting next to me. He had a hunting knife stuck right through the middle of his hand, sitting there all chill and relaxed. They came out to get him and he said take the kid in, his is in bad pain. Didn't know if the dude was the kindest dude ever or he was scared to go in. Someone hit a deer so he ran over to finish it off, but when he went to slice it's throat the deer jumped. It was like a scene out of a movie seeing the handle against his palm and the long blade out the top of his hand.

Yeah, my wife holds the bagel in the palm of her hand, then with the other saws through it (toward her hand) with a serrated knife. Every single time I say something to her and she does the kind of "yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it, shaddup" thing. As someone who's worked with powertools and sharp objects most of my life, I take it a lot more seriously than her. I've nearly lost fingers a couple times and I saw my dad nearly cut off all his fingers in one go twice.

Oh that is horrible. When I used to work at the prison, one of the guards was a woodworking hobbyist and I heard he had an accident at home woodworking. I saw him a month or so later and everyone was welcoming him back, he held up his hand, some had one knuckle, some two, and some none, he said this is what a dumb arsehole looks like fellas, now I get to go through life like this, be careful. Ouch. My brother does construction for a living and I keep dreading he will take his fingers off, all these yeas and only tipped himself and it grew back at least. I also knew a guy who's dad had a butcher shop and he let the the son put the meat in the grinder and it took his arm off up to his elbow. I would hate to have been his Dad. Damn actually a friend of the family was giving his daughter a ride on the lawm mower and she lost her arm too, never talked to him as an adult because of that. A coworker was cutting his grass in my hometown that has huge hills, so steep driveways. He pushed it up the driveway while running and fell backwards and lost all his toes on one foot. I used to get yelled at when I was in the Guard. My job was loading and firing self-propelled 105mm howitzers. Well I always went fast but kind of took my time as the breach was hydraulic and could cut your whole arm off, plus the recoil was like 7 feet when shot and you would be dead in a second, nasty business getting hit by artillery but almost as bad if you eff up firing one too.

Adapt and overcome.

My right index finger was reattached after being cut off sticking it under swivel rocking chair. I was an infant in care of the neighbors at the time. Have the scar to remind me... But I still needed plenty of stitches over the course of my life.

I show my finger to my daughter on occasion to remind her. Don't be careless.

I tell Micah if you lose a toe you can't wear flip flops anymore LOL. A gal I work with, used to work with a guy in a wheelchair and one of the coworkers brought his Chihuahua in for a visit, yeah you know where this going, he ran over the dog and killed it.

Jerry Garcia's brother chopped his finger half off while camping. I smashed a guys thumb in the Guard putting up a radar net. He set the stakes and yelled go and then I hammered then down. Well he yelled go with his thumb over the top of the stake, oops, he was an arsehole but I didn't do it on purpose but kind of was happy after.

The show was incredible, got some footage of radio Moscow who I've never heard before last night and was pleasantly surprised to find out their guitarist is a full blown shredder of the most outrageous solos. Bang! Was top notch hard rock, played all the classics plus one new song that was heavy as all balls, glad to see them go In that direction on your with younger bands still living the dream.
Pentagram played a killer set list, was my first time seeing them with victor griffin, and what can I say, the mans a doom god.

Reggie's was also tight, if like to play there some day.
