I often run and OSD > Bluebeard pretty hard and never had any issues before. I'm starting to feel like the ray rice of amp abuse.

Yeah, I haven't had any issues with my cab since I had the speakers reconed.

So...what are my options in a non-velcro pedal board? I wan't something big enough for several pedals but not too big looking when I'm only using 2 or 3.

I don't want velcro simply because I'm doing some experimenting and will be moving stuff on and off the board for a while.

Is there something with a non-skid surface I could use?

Can I just use a small piece of plywood and put something on the face? Rat Fur carpet maybe?

find a .25 cents suitcase from salvation army then build a small board to fit inside it?

I've been using a small piece of 1x8 pine (spray painted black, natch) with a row of holes drilled through and zip ties for the last 2-3 years. Even got a wee zipper bag of Amazon that I stuff my One Spot into so just enough cord come out to attach to an extension cord and the daisy chain. My guitar board has 5 pedals on it, my bass board usually 3-4. I had some left over brackets from curtain rods that I used for "feet" to angle it and get room for the aforementioned stash bag, but you can get rubber feets that work as well. Less than $10 in materials and about 20 minutes of time.

This. I just scored a Boss PH-3 and I love it. Really looking forward to hitting some of those old Geezer tones with it. Don't think the band will be down with it. They have a pretty limited view of what bass should sound like, not to mention the music that they write doesn't really allow for much besides OD/fuzz. I'll work her in there though.

I ransacked my dads basement for a suitcase from the 70s/80s. Used it for a long time until my collection got to big for it.



Question for you guys. It seems like you guys run two(or maybe more) fuzzes/ODs fairly often. How do you tame the feedback? Low gain? I really like the tones I get running my 2 to 3 ODs at the same time, but I feedback constantly when not playing. Guitar player wants me to only use one or turn the gain way down. Both options leave me feeling slightly neutered. How do you guys do it?

Tried out the iStomp's "Small Stone" phaser, and it's pretty cool! Has a similar vibe to a flange, so I think I'll stick with the FX25B Filter for the second effect. Doesn't hurt I picked up a used Digitech Turbo Flange for $20 today, so I've got that.

What did Geezer use phaser on?

As to feedback/noise, I use an MXR Smart Gate. No problems. However, my pedals are typically set for low gain as well. At least for what they're capable of.

Geezer used a phaser on the intro solo to N.I.B.

I had considered a gate (either MXR or Boss) but had always heard of tone suck. Also not sure if this would achieve my goals.

I run tortuga fireant> EQD speaker cranker> BB. Primarily run the EQD for tone and the BB to add a tighter drive and bass bump. I use the Tortuga for a more raw grind and all out hellfire. The BB has the gain around 11:30 or noon, EQD at 2 or 3, and channel 1 of Tortuga at 9 or 10 with 2 wide open. I cannot run any combination withought feedback.
