I swear...I'll never be happy. My Bluebeard which was synthy and square-wavey with my old 8x10 is now throaty and visceral my new Mesa 2x15.

My Rat which was thunderous with my 8x10 is limp with my 2x15.

I received all the parts to build my Super Rat but they forgot the enclosure. Uggg!!!!!!

But now...I want to build a new Muff instead!!!

Why can't e-commerce be faster than my whims??!!??

obviously you need to run the Rat into the 8x10 and the Bluebeard into the 2x15 at the same time

Apparently it works quite well and it adds a funky touch

On another note, Friday was the first rehearsal in 6 months. One of the guitar player was missing, so this is what we came up with to warm up, one riff, 15minutes

I ordered 2 "Ultimate Stoner" PCBs from Grind Custom FX. If the US build scheme goes well (ultra novice) I will make some rare variant of muff. Any suggestions? Thinking purple ram.

Good morning dudes. MN gigs this weekend were awesome. I had a fridge to borrow both nights and the AD200 sounded great as usual. Saw some old friends, made some new ones and played pretty well. Our cash even finished in the black, too!

Now back to work, ugh.

Played in CA for the first time with Bongripper over the weekend. Part of a fest called "day of the shred" it was a lot of fun, played to a lot of people, and overall was a pretty awesome weekend. There's a video of our whole set up on youtube, but you can actually hear the bass in this one.



Earthquaker Devices had their pedal demo boards setup so I got to hang out and try out all their stuff for awhile, they make some pretty cool effects. In fact earthquaker made a new fuzz pedal for the fest which all the bands got, it's called the Grim Reefer and it's based on the Ace Tone FM-2 octave fuzz, I'll snap a pic later, but definitely a pretty awesome deal for playing a show.

Back at work now, so that's no longer exciting.

No progress on getting a new band going, which is certainly a bummer. In non stoner/doom new though, there is some progress on writing the next albums for Mental Waste and Gorehog. Both of those bands may transition into live gigs in the next year, it's being discussed. Both were previously only recording projects. They would definitely be fun songs to play live, though extremely short sets.

F*ck yeah, one of my favorite albums of all time. Definite huge influence on me as a bass player, playing and tone wise. To the point where I wrote a NoMeansNo style homage type song on the last release for my old punk band that broke up in 2008.

Speaking of Nomeansno - my wife and I went to see them a few years back. A hippie friend of mine was visiting from out of town and we dragged him along. Totally not his kind of music whatsoever, but when we caught up with him after the show he was in shock - "Holy poopie, that shaging bass player is shaging amazing!"

I feel like NoMeansNo is one of those bands that if you see live, you may not like their music but you will probably be entertained by their musicianship. Rob and John Wright are a powerhouse rhythm section. It's not even fair to call them a rhythm section, I would be totally entertained watching just the two of them playing and singing on stage.

Not having much luck with the class D amps. I killed my ampeg 7 pro twice before selling it and I just killed my Orange TB1000 at last practice. Unlike Ampeg, Orange customer service rules though! I bought it almost 1.5yrs ago all I have to do is ship it to them and they'll fix it for free. Dunno if its bad power at the practice space, I just doom it too hard, or just bad luck but it might be time I go full tube. Perhaps I need to order up a Dunwich.

Lots of peoples TB's are taking a dump. Mine did.
