Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

same rig/tuning, for that recording i was using my 100w head though. it sounds quite a bit "tighter" so it suits playing faster a lot more. fun times, those were all one take wonders.
Just picked one up!
I must have been slamming the front end too hard and tripped the limiter? I took it to practice(it fits in my back pack lol) to just give it another try, along with my back up amp to band practice yesterday. Long story short. Never had to use my back up amp. SOOOOO ***!?!? I still think I am gonna get full tubey when I have the funds. I love the TB1000 though. Such a great sounding amp and so freaking easy to carry around.
Yup, if it just shut down, most likely went into thermal protect mode. It happens. Check to make sure your fan is working and not dusty. Also turn down the level/volume on your dirt pedal. Usually an amp will turn itself back on after it trips, but if you just shut it down thinking it was busted then you wouldn't have known.

Halloween was trippy stuff
Love the class D amps I've used and never had an issue with my GK's. Also liked the lead sleds, hybrids and full tube amps.
In Austin for a few days visiting my parents and getting my dad to help draw up a circuit for my dual circuit PJ SS squier jag bass, very excited. Also that means I can put the big ass short scale strings on for a real low B.
P goes into an on-off-on switch the first on is straight to jack second on has a .1uf cap on it acting as a low pass then jack
J is the same except it has a .001uf cap high pass and it's own jack.
P circuit goes to modulation (small stone and pulsar tremolo hopefully) and the joyo UD into the SVT side of the preamp into the faital loaded dually.
J circuit goes into a Bluebeard and LPB-1 into the ORMAT side into the eminence Kappa loaded bassic.
I want a massive rippling clean supported by unbridled filth. This is for something that hopefully comes together with a guitarist friend and his guitarist neighbor and a drummer nearby.
This basically means no danos will be used. I will save them and make a dano only board I think someday. They are awesome but too fragile to drag around.

Oh and I posted the alphabass for sale/trade just to see. I got offered an old Ampeg V4 that needs a standby switch supposedly? He says that makes an even trade. Any thoughts?

As much as I love Peavey gear, the ampeg is more desirable. Makes me wonder what trouble he is trying to unload on you with a non working amp.

Class A/B power amp, tube preamp, and a couple of fridge sized cabs here.
All tube Combo at home, and a lead sled hybrid for a backup.

Well I originally thought that but I tried for like 30 mins of letting it "rest" but it didn't want to come back on after several attempts. I also checked the outlets in our practice space and they checked out as OK but dunno if they are always ok . who knows. It worked at last practice. Dialed back the pedal volume and upped the amp volume.
The club we mostly play is up two flights of rickity out door metal stairs. Load in sucks. Trying to convince the place they should just back line a 8x10 for the club. Also no youngling here. Got 4 hard decades under my belt. lolWhat's with all the class D love in here today? What's next, best P&W songs to follow the offering?

Im just messing with you guys. If you wanna play My Little Pony amps, I totally support that and will even give you a matching Brony shirt. ;-)
I love my GK MB200! It's great for low volume practice, and as a headphone amp. I've tested it in the band mix, and while I'm not quite as present as with my 700RB-II, it gets the job done. Also, I can just run that into the FOH and have no problems at all. Great for back up.
Class D: 3000 watt amp.
Lead sled: 2000 watt amp.
Tubes: 400 watt amp.

Quick shot of some stuff I got at home currently. My Fuzzrocious LED Demon/Grey Stache, the fixed up Rat2 is back in action and sounding ratty (thanks again mbelue), the previously mentioned limited/special edition Earthquaker Devices Grim Reefer, and a Minifooger Delay.
The GR is pretty cool, real pronounced octave effect on high strings, not an all the time tone for me, but still very cool. And sounds nothing like my other dirt/fuzz pedals so it's nice to have some options around.
