Quick shot of some stuff I got at home currently. My Fuzzrocious LED Demon/Grey Stache, the fixed up Rat2 is back in action and sounding ratty (thanks again mbelue), the previously mentioned limited/special edition Earthquaker Devices Grim Reefer, and a Minifooger Delay.

The GR is pretty cool, real pronounced octave effect on high strings, not an all the time tone for me, but still very cool. And sounds nothing like my other dirt/fuzz pedals so it's nice to have some options around.

For sure! I had Josh at FXdoctor fix it up for me. Got all new screws for the bottom, replaced the jacks with metal ones, and he did his "overhaul" mod on it which changes a few caps for higher quality ones, increases the bass response and gain range. It sounds pretty sweet. I'm real excited to get my G3 back up and running as it's pickups sound radically different from my EGC and P-bass, so I'm interested to see how they react with the Rat.

Soo I finally got around to trying out the Joyo American on guitar last night. Wow. Then I pushed the front end with the OD Glove. Even more wow. Pretty damn impressive little box.

Erm, not quite. As far as I'm aware, it was a wah, either a Vox or Tychobrahe (not sure if they had the Tycho's for the first album or not, I haven't seen any firm info)

Yeah, that's what I thought - but didn't have any proof so didn't want to argue with a stranger on the internet about it. Sure sounds like a wah to me.

solved the mystery on halloween, the mesa d180 will get loud with the harsh od, but clean it's more of a rock and roll volume amp, the bass player from a progressive death metal band used my setup after we played, but he stressed it had to be clean, which i guess equates to lower volume in direct contrast to my knockout punch sludgyness

I don't think about Foo Fighters one way or another, but that HBO series is pretty darn good, gotta say

I loved the first episode, liked the second one. The third one, didn't manage to watch it until the end. And I do like me some country once in a while.


Planning to get me a new dirt pedal, I'm oscillating between the Iron Pig and Team Awesome Fuzz Machine. Anyone had any experience with these?
I'd rather ask here than in the Effects forum, don't want to get wiseass "I don't use pedals" comments.

I wouldn't play in a band that required more than my 25 W Ampeg can deliver to properly fit in. It's just a matter of making music in an enjoyable and sensible matter. YMMV though.

Hearing loss is a serious and a very real consequence of loud music.

Some people just don't get it, and never will. If you don't want a full body experience while playing, I guess do you. The key word in his post that gets me is sensible. As if rock was meant to be sensible and proper, polite and inoffensive. I never get how these guys who grew up listening to this stuff are so touchy when it comes to playing at volume. The bands that wrote the songs these guys play in their bar bands and what not were not about being sensible and inoffensive. It's some serious cognitive dissonance.

At the same time, I don't get when audiences became so squeamish regarding volume as well.

Oh well.../rant
