Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Well take it all with a gran of salt. Here is my take on it and a comparison.

Airborne is a vitamin boost. No more no less. It's not a cure it's a preventative measure. That someone wants to take the company to court is no surprise. The feds are in it to make money from other meds they want to push as a cure. If you can prevent needing an antibiotic your far better off maintaining consistent good health.

I had an issue a while back where my diet was not enough to keep me healthy. Began taking a multi vitamin each morning to make sure I have nutrients needed to maintain my health. Since doing so my jaw is not hurting any more, nor are my joints creaking as much. This also has to do with H2O intake as well. Eating constantly and vary my diet some more was also a big win.

Comparison.

I've been using a vaporizer since the beginning of the year for my Nicotine addiction. Reason for the change is I'm tired of smoking and Tobacco Tax. Fall back is to keep smoking and paying tobacco tax because I'm addicted to nicotine.
Soon the feds are going to catch up with this tact and change the law to be a nicotine tax as opposed to a Tobacco tax. Now in the mean time there are a poopie ton of companies making hardware and juice for sale without FDA approval. Am I going to stop because this governmental organisation with the backing of corporations to sell product is not supporting the model. No.

These may not be solid arguments or comparisons. However people have a right to have options. FDA can go stamp some beef and GMO grain IMHO and get out of my medicine cabinet.

Kept my last flu/cold symptoms from lasting two weeks. I was down for 2 days. Others around me were out for 3 to 4. It's a choice. BTW was your doctor pushing you to something else for a remedy?

I'm rarely sick to take me out of work. This is not my normal course as a daily supplement.

I load up on the generic emergen-c powder before I do these winter trade shows. It's pretty similar to airborne.

Travel in airplanes, plus 150,000 people from all over the globe crammed into a convention center shaking hands and sharing bathrooms - it's hard to not get sick on those trips. Last year I had the vitamin c+ supplements and took between 4 and 6 a day and didn't get sick. Could be a coincidence, but I don't think it is. I have a hard time sleeping away from home so I do 4-6 days of 12-14 hour work plus a dinner with drinks - really wears down the immune system. If I could do all of that and not have to take 3 days off when i get back then it's worth it to me to spend the 8 bucks and take the chance that it'll work. The one year that I didn't take anything I came home with a severe flu...

No he is actually one of those ride it out doctor's, doesn't like to give out medicine unless you have been sick at least two weeks. Yeah I could use a boost of some type as my colds linger around forever.

For sure. I'm going to be on the road the rest of November aside from two days. Thanksgiving in Costa Rica will be different but since I'm working not so much fun. Aside from that I will be in the middle of Illinois looking at chopped down corn and bean fields. Sleeping in hotel rooms suck I prefer my couch. ;)

Solid advice. As an experiment try it and see if it blows over or keeps it from getting out of hand. Nothing worse than trying to doom while your nose is dripping on your bass.

Joe - what actually works to knock down the duration time is zinc. Go out as soon as possible and get some zinc lozenges. Supplements won't help, it's gotta be the lozenges. Start sucking those down and keep going after you start to feel better. If you start as soon as you start to notice symptoms it will definitely help.

Just be aware that they mess with your sense of taste so give yourself some time before the next meal.

Speaking of gear.... What is a decent bedroom amp that has good tone at low volume. I understand oxy moronic quest. Main thing is it needs to be fed dirt and sound full.

Orange Micro Terror. I love that thing so much I am thinking of selling my Orange Terror Bass for an Orange guitar tube head! Plus it is super versatile for home use with the MP3 in and headphone out, and you still have a preamp tube to get plenty of crunch with. Found mine on CL for $85 minty fresh.

Ok. I've heard good stuff about the rumble as well, will have to read up on the micro terror. Not going to freak about having to be new though. Old could be just as good (like me). Would love to drop the coin on a flip top but that money is already spent at the moment.
