Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Sorry to hear about your Ma and stepdad, dude. My wife had to spend a lot of time taking care of her folks over the last few years, it's hard, hard work. They were older and in poor health and needed to be helped through assisted living to hospice, the whole bit. My wife has 3 other siblings that could have helped but didn't. Everything gets dumped on the one child that is actually decent enough to not be able to nothing. It's difficult, unfair and downright ******. I wonder how some people can live with themselves - wouldn't any you guys feel bad if your brother-in-law did more to help out your ailing parents than you did?

Anyway, I hope the double job thing and the parents thing get worked out with a minimum of BS. Hang in there.

My mom has parkinsons, and treating it has financially crushed them. She has been waiting for ever for disability to kick in. My step dad lost his job, and at 63 has struggled to find something else.

It is amazing how sh!tty people are, and part of me is really glad that I will be working through the holidays.

Sry to read that news man. Major good karma for you for helping them out.

Gassin for a super fuzz again. Also I'm not saying it's perfect but you guys think I can get away with 105-50 in drop C on my ric? Got a couple fresh sets I'm trying to decide what to use. I'm leaning toward the 105-50 daddario but also have a 110-55 curt mangin and 118-43 circle k. I would do the circle k's if it wasn't the 118 drop set. With they were the standard set.

the American health system and your insurance industy just blow my mind. I don't know how you guys live with those burdens. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the peace of mind that our system provides.

Hope it all works out for you Julian.

It really pisses me off, and makes me want to punch anyone against the affordable care act right in the face, repeatedly, with a hammer. Even with it, the program has been slow to do its job. My parents entire 401k has been killed off trying to pay for medical bills that were sent to corrections.

Boss Hyper Fuzz or a Behringer knockoff?

Played fingerstyle at practice last night, first time doing that since I switched to a pick about 5 years ago.

Sounded pretty good, felt more substantial on the low end as I was getting more contact with the string.

My hands aren't so jacked up anymore since I don't work in freezers all day like I used to, maybe it's time to start incorporating more fingerstyle back into the mix.

Anyone in here interested in buying an EHX Bassballs Nano or an MXR Dyna Comp? I'm trying to get rid of some stuff I'm not using to fundraise some cash for taking my wife out on our anniversary. Also moving a Tech 21 Liverpool (Vox in a box), don't know if anyone would be interested in that, more of a guitar thing.
