Hey, I've been reading following this thread for a few months. Read the entire thing, but never really felt like joining in. Not a super talented musician, and have never played in a band. Thought you were a cool bunch and figured that if I had any questions about anything bass, I'd rather ask you guys than scour the forums for other people's opinions when they don't have similar taste or musical goals.

Thanks! I have a few pedals, and could always do with more. I just recently bought a Pedaltrain Jr. and the empty spaces on it need to be filled. My main dirt pedal is a Mojo Hand Colossus Fuzz that I use for both my bass and guitar.

However, I'm more in the market for an amp and cab at the moment. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to drop on a tube amp. I was looking at [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] to possibly get me by until I can afford something a bit better.

Are the Sunn/Fender 300T amps considered high gain rock amps similar to Orange and what not?

well the 300t has two gain controls that you can blend. one of them is quite clean the other can get heavy preamp tube distortion.

I kind of miss mine and have been thinking of trading my SVT for one.

There's a super clean one for sale locally that is owned by the original owner. I think I could get him down to $1000 but don't really need it and I'm not sure I'd even want it. If it's similar to an SVT I'd almost prefer the SVT because I like less knobs than more, plus they can be had for cheaper.

I'd say the 300t is closer tonally to an ampeg than an orange/matamp.

I used my 1200s for years, and would EQ it to sound like an svt.

Every once in awhile I do this to myself. Always wondering if I should get a tube amp again lol. I really do love my Terror Bass, there's no real need to get another amp. There is a guy selling an SVT-CL + PR-410HLF for $1k. Was considering offering him $500 for the amp just to see what he says.

Nobody has ever exited this life wishing they had fewer fuzz pedals. Unless they died in an avalanche of fuzz pedals. Even then, their last thought should just be "f*ck yeah".
