Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I just got a message on Soundcloud from someone searching for their birth parent. I guess they somehow found their way to my account because he has the same last name and lived in the same apartment building I used to 6 years ago (different unit though). I dunno if it was some kind of spam/scam thing or what, but that was really weird. I just told them sorry, never known anyone by that name and not related to them to my knowledge, but good luck with their search.
Not sure why but I love Birth Parent as a band name.

Since I think you mentioned you work with your family, I am imagining you looking up from your computer/phone and saying, So Dad, hmm, errr, umm....

Basic Tone not really by ear, on 6 inputs theres the added fuzz circuit. Power, the 6 inputs are 300 watts at 2 ohms and the 4 inputs are 210 at 2 ohms.

Then I previously had a 4 input. I wasn't sure, I paid $10-$20 for it. Now I'm spoiled to find another deal like that.

At that time I had a danelectro longhorn, into that, into an 8 ohm 1x15 pa speaker. Sounded really nice playing sabbath into that rig. The longhorn has this awesome tone unto itself.

Longhorns are pretty sweet, always wanted one, a baritone Longhorn would be cool too.

I would charge a lot more than $20 a day, I'm a really good dad. That's premium sh*t you're paying for

Ha...that would have been priceless, but she told me his name and it's no one I'm related to. I might have a relative with the name, but it would be someone who lives in Oklahoma and has never lived in California in their life. Let alone coincidentally in the same apartment complex I used to live in. She also said he was in the Air Force and my dad's side are all Navy guys.

It's got a really clanky weird tone that's lacking a little low end through that rig, but was very full and nice.

Only issue is how light and weak it was. It's not a bad stay at home only you play it bass. But any interaction involving travel and others touching it would make me nervous. Especially since they seem to have jumped from $200-$300 to $400+.

If I had the money and time I'd like to get one and install threaded inserts into a lot of it, prevent stripping and more solidness, of course that may take away it's uniqueness.

Web training!

Went from slammed to dead. I guess it gets like that the week of a holiday. No sure what to do except look busy. Lol.

Trying to get a shared practice space lined up with another band. Same building, but downstairs where the DIY venue is going to be. Opening weekend in two weeks! So we will have a bigger room, practically next to a venue. How cool is that?!? Load in/out just got tremendously easier.

The BR Carvin cabs are on sale right now. I can vouch for the 1-15".

The longhorn just looks too awkward to me. I do like the LP style Dano bass (are they called '56?). Could never find a local one to try. Who knows, I might have bought it instead of the Carvin.

Pbass is ruling the roost right now. Through the ultimate drive is gold.

Yeah was my fear, I would smash it on accident LOL.

Yeah tumbleweeds are rolling by my office today. Went out to collect GPS points for a citizen who said they started construction(wasn't on my list so I doubted it but a nice day for a ride) and yep they lied there was four flags on the property LOL. Stopped by 7-11 to grab two cuts of pizza and a the always awesome $.99 Arizon Green Tea and dude had no pizza out and was trying to convince me to by a hotdog. I want pizza, oh No No No you want Big Bite, no man, then the poor dude got yelled at by his boss why is there no pizza, felt bad for the dude, job most suck enough, but dude I don't want an eff'n hotdog LOL. Apparently it is National lie to Squanch Day LOL.
Time for some boring software training, might as well get that out of the way on slow day.
