Dude mine sits in a stack of amplifiers at jam space and will probably never see that light of day unless it magically fixes it's self, the repair for out exceeded how much I actually bought it for
it's too bad because when working they do sound great.
My son practically survives on PB, and we feed him the Smuckers Natural. It is a courser grind, still pretty smooth, but about the closest I can think of to what you are asking. I like that it has peanuts and salt in it, thats it. My wife buys the JIF Natural sometimes, and I always give her crap for it (Palm Oil and lots of extra sugar)
Yeah Im not too concered with wattage though because I wont be pushing it with 1000s of watts like some of you guys do. My most powerful amp is my Festival booster and thats low 400s at 2 ohms. Its also not very expensive to replace if I blow it, thats is if it doent take anything else out with it.
Really trying to stay away from a rack mount unit and go with something I can put in the cab.
Are SVTs unusually expensive to repair?

Any tube amp is pretty expensive to repair, IME. Its a very specialized skill, and in high demand. The SVT has the distinction of being about the most complex amp built, prior to maybe the later Mesa MArk series, and when poopie goes bad, due to the power involved, it goes BAD.
But they are overall dependable amps, if a bit expensive to upkeep with all the tubes to be replaced etc.
My dad helps me fix my amp issues, I've never used a tech. Still I'd hate for wipeout if the tubes or transformers, that would be pricey even if labor is free.
My biggest issue with amps so far when fixing them is poor layout. The work is made so much harder when stuffs crammed together in multiple stand offs and such.
My girlfriend's father is pretty slick with electronics and fixes and mods CB radios for the local rednecks here. He is a musician too. He has a Fender tube amp that just sits in the junk bin, I assume because it is much harder to repair tube than ss gear. I keep telling him fix that and get you some coin, nah is all I get.
I've felt the same way a few times - hope it stabilizes for you.
My drummer uses one of the hybrid Ampegs (5-pro I believe) for his kick monitor. It has begun to make a "static" noise when you tap on it - or when it's vibrating from sitting on top of the cabs. We replaced the preamp tube, but no fix. Anyone have ideas if this is something we might troubleshoot? We verified it's not a ground issue, or the mixer input, etc. The amp is sensitive to vibration...

I've found aside from the danger aspect, if you can do a little online research and have some help (or experience like him) it's not that different when it comes to simple amp repairs. Also the danger is negated if it's been turned off and sitting there a while.
Most issues I've faced were simple cold solder, or cap leakage.
Does 600 watt power handling sound better? I was told by my guy that if the low pass went it would take the amp with it. I definitely want high power handling then.

That does sound better, not sure how all of it will work out with your woofer and such. There are some guys in Amps that could help you source and build one for yourself for less coin too. Arjank probably has some insight on a LPF for what you want to do.

He's a bit of a hoarder. I may need that or parts from that someday. He built a nice addition then filled it with old radios. I showed him all the free radio classifieds to list his extra stuff and he kind of did the I don't understand all that computer stuff. Oh yeah you sure know how to sit behind it, search the web, download pics and music, but you can't slap a pic and a description on your extra parts to make some decent coin....Hoarder.

Right now I'm dealing with a guy who has the "read" and "delivered" message thing on his phone and I told him I have his pedal and I'm available at the time he mentioned. Please let me know either way so I may plan my day.
