Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Reaaaal quiet roun' hyuh.

delivering gear flips across dallas this evening. It's 25 outside and feels like 50 inside with just my little space heater.

Also my utility bill has been steadily rising, and was an all time high yesterday. Aside from AC or heat, I hardly do anything. Use a lamp or natural light, LED TV, light cooking or an amp or two jamming in a 1 bedroom house. What's up you think?

Electric heating of any kind is expensive. I'd be willing to bet that you're just seeing extra cost because of heating. I can't imagine that your place is insulated very well.

I pay $27-$28 which is like .70-$1.00 more than just paying to keep it on.

No foundation or insulation in the walls! It's square with 4 rooms. I keep micro fleecy blankets on the windows in the living room and heat it pretty consistently as the majority of the time I spend is in there. If I sleep in my bed I turn heat off in there and move to the bedroom.

Uggg... AO Smith pissed me off last year. Thermocoupler puked and their idea of a replacement part is an entire assembly. F that. Picked up a replacement at ACE and modded it into service no issues since. Think I needed to drill the mount hole larger or something simple. Still need to put a blanket on mine.

Utilities have been 1/3 what I was paying since the ex is out of the house now. I refused to turn on the AC this last summer. This winter set point for central air is 67*. If your cold put some damn cloths on. Yes it's winter time kids, your not supposed to where t shirts and shorts all the time... because winter yo.

Last year I had two Gas/Electricity bills that were $500. All due to going over my expected allotment of BTU and getting into 2x per BTU rates.

Nice part is no one seems to be dying or getting sick. Hmmmm

Happy New Year, dudes! Been away travelling. Had a blast in New Orleans.

Meant to drop this bass demo to share but just got really busy; peep it if you like. It's a bass test using the now out-of-production Fuzzrocious Terrordactyl. That's the fuzz + auto wah pedal.

I used a simple drum loop with some clean bass then a couple different settings. Pretty cool pedal.

Chain was Epi Tbird > Peavey F800 > OBC410.

It can get glitchier or clearer depending on much wah you dial in. More wah envelope = glitchier fuzz, which I like. There's a switch on there to toggle between the two wah ranges; I used that on the really weird sounding part. It also has an exp. pedal input which I didn't demo. While controlling the sweep it cool, I prefer the tone of the wah without the footswitch. For some reason, it just sounds "chewier" to me.
