Also, this came in the mail today:

Since we're on the topic of top 10's in no particular order my fav 10 albums of 2014 were:

Mastodon - Once more round the sun
Earth - Primitive & deadly
Trap Them - Blissshager
Bongripper - Miserable
Old Man Gloom - Ape of God 1 & 2
Sleepmakeswaves - Love of cartography
Behemoth - The Satanist
Ne Obliviscaris - Citadel
Indian - From all purity
Opeth - Pale communion

Well, toasted my guitarists old bass head. Gotta wonder what I'm doing to amps. TB1000 kicked the bucket a few months ago, and the loaner went this past week. AT A SHOW!! lol. shiiiit.

In my defense, the loaner was super old and purchased for 30 bucks.

Since I'm looking to add a 2nd dually, I'm picking up a Carvin B2000 tomorrow that'll run a poopie ton of watts @ 2ohm. Rackmountable, so I'll be able to give it a little heft, so I don't rattle it off my cabs.

If I burn this thing out I'm going to have to seriously analyze why I'm brutalizing these things. I don't really feel like I'm pushing anything too hard.

Be sure to add some support on the back of the amp in the rack. I've tore up my SWR SM900 and noticed the Carvin power amp was kinda loosy goosy with just the rack ears to support.

Leads to a question. Why not go pre amp/power amp setup?

Because with a separate setup I'd have to make 2 difficult decisions instead of just 1. ;) Seriously, that's what it boils down to.

At practice tonight i took a gander behind my amp and feel pretty stupid for even asking what id need ti run another cab. The amp itself has 2 8 ohm and 2 4 or 2 ohm jacks. Then my cab has two speakon jacks so i can either daisy chain or run in parallel right? So which one is going to give me the most pant flapping?

As for the Baritone? Try Bass Strings online. He could also blend a custom set for you if you like. Invalid Link Removed
I've never seen pickups like this with bar and pole combination. Curious how it turns out. Don't knock yourself too much on the finish. The next one will be better.

I checked out Circle K strings (wait now they're "Kalium Strings") as they have a dizzying array of stuff, including singles. I ordered a .17 to .73 guitar set, but added some heavier gauge singles so I could tweak to taste. I also added some unwound bass core singles in 0.14 to 0.22 gauges (they have those, really!) because I was concerned that the higher-pitched strings wouldn't stretch all the way to the tuning peg on the standard fender-shaped headstock. I measured it at about 34.5 inches from bridge to tuning peg.

Well so I placed the online order with paypal payment. A few hours later, Skip from Kalium CALLS me. He was trying to get an idea what I was doing, so I talked about this project, and he assured me their guitar strings would be plenty long enough and that he could cancel the order and save me some money. So that's what we did. Yes, a businessman took time out his day to understand his customer's needs and instruct him to give him LESS revenue. So that's kind of awesome. I give this outfit two big thumbs up right now. Now just to find out if the tone matches the service!

No.

If you are running two 4 ohm cabs, run from the 2 ohm tap to your dually, then run from your dually to the second 4 ohm cab.

I get it man. My house is looking like a musical stonehenge lately. Racks, Cabs, and my Klipsch collection...But still wanting more. Hope this next head is new so you can be the one to put all the hours on it.

They were going to be my next suggestion. Nice to hear he's stepping up on the customer service game a bit. Let us know how it turns out.

I stopped in at the guitar shop tge morning after VEGA played Destroy all Xmas X, cool shop. Marshall stacks to drool over, some other cool oddball stuff. Priced ever so slightly high though. They had a gibson super thor 215 combo unloaded for like $120, that I total would have bought if i had any room left in the wagon, even had a cab on the roof.

Started putting together a new song at GH practice, maybe like 1 or 2 more all well have enough material to do a full length in 2015 as well as the split.

Afterwards i did a mock setup of the full 3 amp, 4 cab Peavey Henge. Itll be loud. Waiting on last pieces which should all be here by the end of Janurary. After that itll be ready to be a traveling monument of Peavey.

That sucks. Be interested to hear about the B2000. When they start showing up used, they should be around $400. Makes me drool...
