I was talking more fender overoversized. Like a 215 cab with 12s in it instead. Even if its your treble side, you still want some bassness to it. An oversized 212 does that better than a 412.

you know, i'm fairly sure the guy who runs my practice space has a rather oversized 212 that came with a fender bassman. that is definitely worth a try! thanks for the tip. being able to experiment with different cab styles like this is great, especially because i know i can always keep the low end solid with a separated bass rig. blend knobs are for chumps

I was so excited to make that 51 P bass with the Dimarzio mudbucker and then I never bonded with that mudbucker after all. I tried different pots, parallel and series, different caps...meh. When I get to diddle mudbucker basses at shops I don't care for it either. Not for me. IMO Rickenbacker has the perfect neck pup placement.
Thats a cool site. I could barely hear 16800hz with the volume cranked. I wasn't using headphones though, just the internal imac speaker.
Heard it all up to 20.000 Hz, but I we haven't had a band practice for a month. Due to change next week. Cool site.
I could hear 35 Hz to 20k, but the high stuff is really faint, I can hear it when it goes away. It IS really faint though. I have major hearing damage too, I had something like 30% hearing loss in junior high. Most of what I do with my free time is just listen really critically to music with intense scrutiny on the EQ for mixing. When I'm mixing I don't even have anything above 17k in my mixes and nothing above 12k on anything except vocals and cymbals.
i always wondered if the mixing on Electric Wizard's albums was because they had massive hearing loss and couldn't hear the unpleasant fizz on the top end.
Ha, maybe. I tend to mix most of the time by consciously getting rid of stuff I don't want, as opposed to try hype things I do want. I don't assume that because I can't hear something that it's not there. It fits with my general life philosophy of "if I'm not using it, get rid of it".

But really id have to talk it over with my drummer but id really like you to mix/master the GH LP when we get it recorded. I always love the sound of your demos and solo stuff youve written. Did you do the Warp Rig stuff too?

I'm only talking about recordings anyway though. I do that sh*t every day, I'm knee deep in recording and mixing heavy tones. Yeah, I recorded and mixed the Warp Rig recording. I'd definitely like to mix your stuff dude, I've been wanting to do some bass and drum duo material and give it some space and depth. I do a lot of tests on my own, but it's not for anything. If you guys were close enough, I'd love to record and produce your stuff. I have a lot of ideas about dialing in multi rig heavy bass tones and room sounds lately.
Gas for a fully load focus wagon with trailer would probably be cheaper than plane tickets just saying...
If there's a studio there you want to rent for me to freelance in and pay me for my time, I'd do it. Not sure it would be super cost effective though. If you guys want to drive out here, I've got a nice big air mattress and I'd throw in home cooked meals for the price of recording

Squier VI is giving me fits. 
Random pops and hisses. I tried different cables, I think it's the input jack. If I'm absolutely stationary it seems to be okay, but moving causes havoc. Any thoughts?

DAMN!! so the fender neo 610 that matches my superbassman showed up yesterday!! i got to play it today. it sounds and looks amazingly sweet!.. I couldnt stop playing for over an hour. stupid happy!!

Look inside for issues. Tighten jack while it's open.
Also note if it's only one pickup or pair that's doing it just in case. The jacks the only thin that should have an issue show up when moving though and the switches should be stationary.
