Since the wife and I are buying a house in a couple of weeks, gonna see if we can make practicing in my basement work. Will probably piss of the neighbors but as long as we're not breaking any laws...
+1 The dually probably has a pretty flat response. however amps and our ears are not tuned for a flat response. What may seem as boosted mids to people is actually flat. We're just used to commercial cabs and gear that usually has a mid scoop baked into the sound.
Killer space. Makes me a little jealous of wretched hive of scum and villany that is the MDT HQ.
Glad I picked faitals for the dually and happened to get a 3015 in the bassic. More fitting for what I'm going for.
What Brand is that setup? I keep putting off a drum kit and want a simple kit with big drums
here she is, my long planned ric-o-sound fuzz board. it is absolutely killer. i have some tidying to do - a more elegant solution to the split cable inputs and a tidy output to both amps - perhaps some male to female jacks. i gotta say, my dirt quest is done for Stone the Crows - this Dunwich shaped box was exactly what i needed.
definitely experiment with your order - in my experience any pedal before it it doesn't work out well because of the super sensitive input. it is set up on the board so my bridge pickup goes directly into it - then it goes directly into an amp. i mute by switching to neck pickup only.
this is definitely true. i wouldn't give up the interaction between guitar volume/pedal input by putting a pedal before it either. maybe a passive volume pedal, if that, to control it with feet.

Old crappy Slingerland kit, paid way too much for it, but its yellow and the thing oozes mojo. The VEGA drummer actually just found his old purple 80s sonar kit, so well be combining those two kits to make one JAWESOME kit. Even if its Viking colors...

I have a fair amount of experience with both the 3015 and the Faital 15PR400 and love them both for different reasons. The Faital goes a bit lower and higher with no real noticeable spikes. It's a really even sounding speaker. The 3015 has that awesome, muscular thing in the low mids and some bite to it in the mid range. Like everything else, there's tradeoffs

If I ever get frisky and order a second Bassic would it sound bad to run one Faital and one 3015 together?
I need to do some AB'ing with the peavey 400. I sold the mb500, bought this and got my speakon for the pre/power setup and haven't sat down to actually directly compare the two. I'll try to get some results tonight.
When I compared them with the mb500 I was just checking the volume difference and yes there is that fyi lol.

That's a pretty good deal for a 4RU case with covers. No idea how tough that box is, but the plywood/Road Ready style ones don't usually stand up to abuse the way that SKB molded plastic ones do. SKB is expensive new, but you can find deals on used cases. But, if you don't feel like dicking around looking for a deal and you're not planning to take your rig on an extended tour that Rondo case should be fine. Any case is better than no case in my book.
You probably don't want to be "that guy" if you plan on being there for a while. Neighbors aren't easy to get along with, after they are pissed.
Maybe see how loud it gets. And if it's audible outside your home, you may want to talk to your neighbors first. Good luck on the house!

And yea no tours, I just don't like having my rack stuff stacked on each other with bubble wrap spacers lol, can't take it anywhere nice looking like that.
I rearranged my room and need to do it again, I put my stacks on either side of my bed and I'm afraid I'll thrash in the night and kill or maim myself with Falling gear.

As a rule, mixing drivers is a gamble, but these two play reasonably well together. Greenboy has said so, and I've run them together with results as has Corey.
+1 to not being that guy. As soon as we moved into our house both my drummer and my wife mentioned having band practice in the basement. I think neither of them realize how loud it gets. It's LOUD, even outside the house. Those low frequency waves really travel, and sound much louder 2-3 houses down than they do right outside your house.
I'm honestly stunned that the cops never showed up at dude's house when the last band practiced there every week. I did have a neighbor of his that lived 4 houses down tell me how awesome we sounded. Which was nice, but we were just lucky that he and every other neighbor on the block (and surrounding blocks) were cool with it.

Yeah, I plan on typing up a letter and dropping it off at the neighboring houses in a preemptive attempt to not upset anyone. But we only practice 1-2 times a week, usually only 2 hours at a time. If someone can hear us playing at the next house and it's not at an obnoxious volume, I don't really care as long as I'm not breaking any laws. Don't see how it's any different than someone running something that is obnoxious and loud like a snow blower, lawn mower, leaf blower, yard trimmer, etc etc.
Also the new house is a ranch style house where 3/4 of the basement walls are under ground. The fourth is the wall to the garage. If I use some sound dampening materials and keep our amps to a reasonable volume it should work. We currently spend $170/mo on our practice space so being able to save that money would be nice.
There's plenty of cheap ways to soundproof a basement. Or if youre really serious about it, what about finding something with an unfinished basement and make it soundproofed. Could be expensive but worth it.
