I shutter to think what all that low end rumbling would shake out of those "clean" mattresses.

Shudder to think...apparently I was boarding up my thoughts for the big storm in that reply.

I spent a $hitload of time and money putting together a conglomeration of raised floor, new walls, heavy acoustic blankets to wall in a section of my garage. At best it only dampens the sound a bit. Most of my neighbors are old people. They like peace, quiet and high property values- but they have a soft spot for adorable young children. I have the adorable little boys so they like us. On the plus side, being old they are nearly deaf so therefore hard to sonically annoy. Long story short, I jam at a satisfactorily loud level, and I've never had a complaint.

Get a whole bunch of free/cheap "clean" mattresses from CL and line the basement with them.

Connected a load, plugged it in, hit the switch and nothing happened. Went to check the fuse - nothing there. Oh well, I'll grab some from work tomorrow.

I've done the whole jam in the basement thing and the neighbors could barely hear us. your bigger challenge will be the wife because if she's home it will be loud no matter where she is in the house.

Exactly why we don't practice at mi casa. We go Sunday nights past my children's bed time.

I want land, just enough house (1000 sqft), and a building, say 12x15. I'd be good.

Haha, definitely the fact that I didn't check the fuse holder . It's right there next to the on switch and volume knob.

Had to order a Nintendo/vidya game screw driver for $5.

I'm sure it'll pay off having it around for all kinds of devices. My reason currently is a guy gave me a DS with a broken top screen so I'm follow a Dutch video that shows how to remove the top half and sand it down and refinish the case then use it like a gameboy advance or home brew games onto it.

Researching also any way to port the thing to the TV, but no luck yet.

We've actually been turning our amps down a lot at practice so our singer can hear himself better, so it might not be too horrible to work out.

What is this "Turn down" you speak of? We practice in my drummers basement, Luckily the house behind him is condemned, the house across the road should be condemned, and everyone else around is too white trash or hippie to want to call the police.

Due to proximity and budget we are all wearing headphones now in a one car garage. Cramped, no one moves. Drummer is using a Roland kit. Recordings are not half bad for reference and writing progress. Keeps the crackosaurus rex from sniffing out some scratch. Not having the full monty practice space where gear is safe, sucks.

Question: I would prefer, for aesthetics, for the 2 duallys to be stacked on their sides; do I need to worry about phase issues with a setup like that?

I would cross fire them.


In other news, I got out of work tonight and had an email saying I am out of the cover band. Seems they felt that me not having nights open for impromptu practices, and the fact that I had to commit and request nights off for shows bugs them. Even though we have not had a gig since the end of summer.

Picked up my '66. Going to have to ride around in the back of my jeep for a bit, pain in the ass getting up my narrow stair well.

It's not the best idea in the world. I mean it won't catch fire or anything, but it won't disperse as evenly into the room as putting them side by side and tied into each other a bit
