Like shoot guns out the window?

My buddy has a cabin out in Somerset, PA that we go to to shoot guns and drink. We always shoot first thing when we get there, may crack a few beers while we're shooting, but the hard liquor and other party favors don't come out til all the rounds have been expended. My friends have told me the only time they've seen me act truly responsible is when there's guns present... I'm a stickler for gun safety and not adding ammo to the Liberals' statistics. And if any of my friends accidentally popped a round in their head, thats one less drinkin buddy! :crying:

I read a thing where a guy said that if he doesn't know anyone on the range he appoints himself the range manager and enforces safe gun handling. That seemed ultra responsible.

I may not have a beard or drink whiskey but I have shot a black powder rifle before.

When I first moved in with my girlfriend I used to shoot guns out the window.

Her place was on this weird back road away from the rest of the neighborhood. The house was surrounded by 2 fields and a dilapidated warehouse. There was also a perma-dust cloud at the end of the street from big rigs that used another warehouse. It kinda looked like the house from Fight Club.

When I did shoot out the window I always aimed down into my yard. I would never just fire random shots up into the air,who knows where those could land.

Dude its one of the only things that really gets me worked up, I'm happy that alot of people enjoy the sport of shooting and aren't terrified of guns (like some people are), but too often you see a group of middle-aged guys at the range that don't know the first thing of gun safety. Theres 4 rules, they're damn easy to remember, they're simple, and if you follow them you'll never have an accident.

I go to the PA State Game Lands ranges, they're really nice and maintained by the state, and usually on weekends theres a ranger there to keep order. This is a BIG range, with probably 20 lanes for each: 100 meters, 50 meters, 25 meters, and 10 meters. I was there late yesterday after the ranger left shooting my AR w/ iron sights at 50 meters, and as my girlfriend is locking the bolt forward to start her set, I see the guys at the pistol range walking out to change their targets. Putting themselves in danger is one thing, but we left shortly after, cuz even though I was calling CLEAR down the line and clearing it before we walked down, I just didn't trust em.

Another time I was at the local indoor range, signing my waiver to go in, and the guy at the counter says "you may want to rethink shooting today" and nods toward the range windows. I see its Asian family fun day at the shooting range, they're waiving pistols left and right, clearing jams with guns aimed at their chests, etc. etc. I thanked him and left. At least I look like enough of a pro at this point that he and I both knew that room was the most dangerous place to be in Pittsburgh on that particular Sunday.

I much rather fish than screw with guns. I had enough guns over seas. Booze makes me feel like garbage nowadays too. Plus it makes me a bit crazy. Yep a couple fishing rods and a heavy J with a gallon of some good kool aid. Some beef jerkey and sandwiches too. I take my radio fishing too when I remember it. Catfishing is where it's at cause you can just sit there and chill

I use to love fishing. Its about the only thing I can happily get up at 3:00 a.m. forbut, the last few times I went (on a boat) I got ultra sea sick. It sucks. I need to either stay close to land or do some surf fishing down the ocean. Most of the streams and lakes around here are pretty boring.
