My band covers that song sometimes (they did it on the first album before I joined). I listened and listened and listened to see if I could nail it note for note... but the mix and tone are just so mushy that I gave up (and I've been doing cover bands for years so have developed a pretty good ear). There are some key parts that pop out and I figure so long as I hit them I'm good.

I saw Black Cobra just the other night.Fairly intense stuff.Get your ears around a good Sword record if you want to get into the stoner/thrash stuff.I can't recommend age of winters enough.
I may have missed the boat a bit,but it's a little strange seeing you guys talking about drinking and shooting,or shooting out your back window.Gun control is fairly tight down under.I've fired a handful of times myself in my army cadet days,but I'm in the minority.
little bit of gun trivia-
The Israeli army assault rifle used to have a component on it shaped a lot like a bottle opener.After several hundred of these parts were damaged opening bottles,they decided to make the mark 2 of the weapon,with a dedicated bottle opener included in the design.

It's a shame. If you're not a bassist or an active listener you will never actually hear that solo because of the mix, and it absolutely slays!

So I'm still going through the 200+ albums I downloaded like half a year. Once in awhile I come across something I don't even remember hearing of or downloading and it rocks! Check these guys out: Reverend Bizarre-They Used Dark Forces/Teutonic Witch:Part I of III - YouTube

Starts off real dark and doomy and goes into a full on 70s Sabbath rock song. Love it! Really dig the vocals on this too.

Alas, I think my days of bands are done.

My old and beat-up hands and shoulders just can't hold up under the strain of practicing and rehearsals.

Now, I have to convince my once a month jam buds to do some heavier stuff. Wish me luck. I'm stuck in the world of The Who, Beatles, and Rolling Stones.

I'm a doomy voice crying from the wilderness.

Hey Fuzzbassian... yeah I've heard from Europeans and Aussies that our gun laws (rights?) seem ridiculous to most of the world. But I've heard that even from people who grew up in different states of the USA. My particular state (Pennsylvania) is very gun-friendly, theres alot of forest and rural farmland, hunting skills are taught generation to generation, and alot of times guns are passed down father to son, or when a kid turns 10 and Dad buys him his first deer rifle, its like a big deal.

I never got into hunting, but did competitive target shooting growing up, and now as a hobby I just like to shoot big guns. Targets, old televisions, Diana Ross records, whatever needs blow to smithereens.

But most people are very responsible with their guns... its the minority who make stupid mistakes who make the headlines. Last one I heard was of a police officer who left his service pistol safety off with a round in the chamber on his bed, and while he was mowing the grass what do you know his 4 year old toddler found it and bad things happened.

So, in more doomier news... if you have not heard, I am currently bandless.

HOWEVER, hanging out with my cool semi-hipster friend Stef yesterday (Laz, the one who came to Weedeater with us,) and we were talking about Danzig coming to town and she mentioned she used to sing for 2 years in a Misfits cover band. Long story short, we're making a stoner band with a female singer who sounds like Danzig.

I am totally in agreement with Toastfuzz. The vast majority of gun owners are very responsible. However, this does not fuel public outrage: "Man Goes to Shooting Range and Shoots a Nice Grouping, Then locks gun Away From Local Kids"

"Pennsylvania man marks 25th anniversary of sleeping every night within 50 feet of a loaded weapon without somehow shooting himself"

And Acid King is the bomb diggity, haven't heard a jam from them I don't like yet.

Thanks dude. I imagine the guitar going off in certain spots, but I'm not really a guitar player.

I am going to have a buddy play some guitar tracks and maybe if father of fires has some time, I could talk him into tracking drums. Songs might finally get some justice.
