Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part Ten - What is this thread about again?

Starting my doom project today with a drummer and another bass player. Dudes got an 8 string Ric so should be pretty cool. Wrote a handful of riffs Saturday. Hopefully it works out. Last time I played with this drummer was about two years ago and lets just say he was less than stellar. Got a name for the band, Dying Giant, already snagged the bandcamp page! Stoked.

I think I'm going to have someone paint the pickgaurd on my Fretless P, I'm thinking really cosmic, spacey with earth in there like this...

Went into the local guitar shop in Pittsburgh that is pretty famous. Its small but carries vintage stuff from time to time. There's a Guild B-301 strung with Chromes that I fell in love with...
I LOVE GUILD! Aint nothing better for acoustic guitar. I eventually want a Fretless B-302.
ALSO, I'm deeply offended I have to choose between Yob and pentagram at Maryland death fest, I'm prolly gonna watch 20 mins of Pentagon gram and watch all of Yob, sorry bobby you had your time to shine.
that's one of my favorite basses! the only thing cooler is Stanford Parker's Electrical Guitar Company modeled after it!

I just watched the Classic Album: Deep Purple's Machine Head- really cool! I spent most of it wondering where the leslie speakers for the organ were, then they explained how they ran the B3 through a Marshall- epic!
Now it's on to Classic Album: Cream's Disraeli Gears.

Ugh I'm having a gas dilemma. I've never walked into a store, played a bass and said I really need to own that until today. I still have the second half of my dually to pay for and I just bought that svt-7 so it is hard justifying buying a bass right now too. It would also be the most money I've ever spent on a bass.
I may try to sell my '77 Artist. It's a great collectible and eye candy but I don't enjoy playing it that much. I'm not sure if there would even be interest...

After another evening spent noodling around instead of practicing, I think I'm going to have to ban Em scales from my routine. Too easy to bust into my usual repertoire of riffs with some fuzz on top.
I really need to start jamming with a drummer.
In other news, drummer I played with a few times last fall is putting together an 80's cover band, so I might be giving that a go. Anything to be playing with other people at this point. I'm having withdrawals.
