i was reading an interview w/ Ryan Ratajski, maker of FUZZROCIOUS pedals. at the end of the interview, he's singing the praises of SFX Micro Thumpinator. it's seems like it is pretty much a high pass filter set to about 25-30 Hz. the idea is that you can't hear much below (low B is 28 Hz) that, so there isn't any reason for your speakers to be subjected to reproducing those frequencies. anyone have any experience?

the thing is most amps already have that filter built into them, meaning if you get the microthumpinator, it would not actually do anything. It could be a waste of money depending on your amp.

i'm not about to go get one, it justseemed worth investigating when it was referred by a pedal builder i respect.

of course the Ufomammut song is rad, but i loved the video as well. those kinds of images would be sick through an LCD projector while playing!

If you flirt with having too much low end in your signal it might help. The thing is, is that if used properly you won't be able to hear any difference. Your speakers might move less and you might have a tiny bit more headroom but if you need something like this to fix headroom and speaker issues then you probably need a better rig anyway.

Non-musicians really have no idea just how hard it is to be in a band. It is a living, breathing entity. Not only do you have to find people that play different instruments, but they need to be good. They need to be creative. They all need to want to play the same music. Usually (but not always the case so don't take this offensively anyone) you need them to have jobs, cars, income, etc. No drug problems. Good personalities and attitudes.

And THEN you can start writing music lol.
