Senseless trolling on my part, but I'm always amazed at how vanilla Mike Gordon's tone is when you see the complexity of the rig(s) he uses. You see that filing cabinet full of rack-mounted gear, and the boutiquey cabs, and then you hear what is basically a very dry, bland flatwound + pick tone, with the occasional envelope filter or other effect to quirk it up. More power to him for having such self control when you have a rig at your disposal that would allow you to trample all over your bandmates every which way.
