XtheDeadPawn said:Ones a victim only if they look at it that way. Suicide as others have pointed out takes planing and the desire to end it all. I stated I almost took my own life so I feel I can serve as a a judge for lack of a better term to these so called victims. I find them as cowards because I see their death as a cheap way out. Suicide causes pain it leaves broken hearts and I have no sympathy for these victims only those they left behind.
If you do good than for you I admit your a better human being than I am but, from how I view humanity that isn't saying much. It just means too me anyways that you feel sorry for fools. I for one have never felt sorry for those who hurt themselves on purpose I'd advise you to do the same however, it appears by your post you find my advice disgusting. Don't worry I find tomatoes disgusting.
As for your belief that the cowards are victims here's a newsflash we're all victims IF WE CHOOSE TO BE. I suffer from mental disorders so many in fact that I'm declared "Mentaly handicapped" aka "Mentally ********". Instead of going to trade school to make something of myself I could say "Oh, I failed at college silly me I should have known a mentally ******** person couldn't be a Doctor oh, well guess I'll collect wellfare for the rest of my life." No you see I expect more from myself and I don't expect a ounce less from anyother human being who suffers from mental disorders either.
My rule on the victim thing is we all got problems. I don't feel sorry for you if you commit suicide because you couldn't find the intestinal fortitude to pull through them (your problems).
Also I do not consider myself a coward because yes I did try to end my own life but, I didn't because I even at 11 or 12 had more b@LL$ than most adults I've met in life. I refuse to be a statistic as I said and your right just like them I hate the world and at times think about ending it all but, I never do. That isn't because I'm a chicken that's because I have more respect for my parents than to put them through burying their son. I'm not coward you see because while they yell I QUIT I yell out to life IS THAT THE BEST YOU GOT?
I judge the people I don't know because I almost commited suicide and you wanna know what goes through someones mind before they attempt it "LIFE ISN'T WORTH IT"
You proabaly never even attempted it yourself so let those who almost did judge those that did.
You wanna call me a coward go ahead.
But, answer me this who is the real coward a person who ended their life or a person that almost did and made himself better because of it?
If you can answer that and still call me a coward I'll give my psychatrists' number to ya'.
So because you ALMOST did it your all of a sudden a pro on the subject and feel you have them all figured out?
If I climb 50 feet up the side of Mt. Everest can I then be the spokes person for mountain climbers world wide?
If I join the military and go through the whole process of boot camp and deployment, but go AWOL just before the plane leaves for the Middle East.
Can I then run around telling everyone what its like to be a combat vet? And pass judgement on those that actually fought the fight?
Or maybe an astronaut that flew on the shuttle but right before it reached the edge of the atmosphere you jumped back to earth but , can now join Internet forums and tell dead astronauts families what their loved ones went through when they re-entered back into the atmosphere and exploded because you ALMOST did the same thing.
And you did it all at the very mature age of 11 or 12 and were able to grasp the full aspects of psychology behind it all while you ALMOST did it.
You say that you don't feel sorry for those cowards that do it, but you do feel sorry for the poor innocent victims those cowards leave behind.
YET YOU RUN OFF AT THE MOUTH about how the person they love which is deceased is a coward, not just on a quick slip of the tongue but repeatedly even after its been made very apparent that they don't view them that way and find it disrespectful for you to address them as such. Yet you continue to drive your disrespect home multiple times.
Again there are ways to say things and still maintain a certain level of decency and respect for people's loved ones.
But you choose to do it in an insulting way.
You asked me to answer a question for you,
You asked,,,
"who is the real coward a person who ended their life or a person that almost did and made himself better because of it?"
Out of all of the ways one can go about killing themselves, I can't think of a single one that wouldn't be the absolute hardest decision ANYONE could ever have to make. I can't think of one that seems easy to pick. I can't think of one that wouldn't absolutely take some incredible balls to actually go through with.
People say its the easy way out, what's easy about the very moment you put a pistol to your temple and know that everything you've ever known is about to end, everything you love is about to be gone, your kids are going to spend countless nights with nightmares, if you have religious beliefs you are taking some huge chances as to where and what your about to face.
All of your family, friends, and coworkers are going to hurt.
And yet you feel so helpless and defeated that in your mind there is NO other choice.
My uncle was sick, as in severely depressed and actually believed what he was doing was helping his children and keeping their mother from screwing their lives up.
Had he been okay and thinking straight he would absolutely have made different decisions as he had in years previous when he faced the exact same circumstances 22 times over the coarse of 20 years.
He was completely normal until doctors put him on anti depressants and then immediately switched him twice to two other types over a one month period.
He reached out for help to his doctor and told him he was having homicidal thoughts and all the guy did was bump up his meds and switch to another brand.
Basically exactly what should not be done when a patient is describing those type of side effects.
Calling someone a coward would mean that they made a calculated decision to dodge a harder or fearful situation.
Someone that is suffering a chemical imbalance in their brain from chronic depression mixed with a waterfall of chemical altering meds switching through constant ups and downs emotionally is better described as a victim of exactly that.
Severe depression, chemical imbalance, severe depletion of needed serotonin levels, anxiety, inability to think rationally, etc.
These are not controllable things. So no anyone in this position IS NOT a coward for doing what their mind has lead them to believe is necessary.
I don't know you so really , I can't say whether your a coward or not.
I question whether you've really done a whole lot to better yourself, seeing as how you entered this thread boasting almost about how hateful you are and how you fantasize about dying.
But IMHO you strike me as that typical attention starved person that surrounds themselves with suicide and stories of it, talks about how they have fantasies about dying as a shock tactic to grab people's attention, and desperately confirm their place in the world by making others feel sorry for them so they can hear people tell them how valuable they are alive.
Typical person who claims their suicidal but never really gets much further than the tear jerker story.
Then after years of using it as a way to selfishly make themselves feel better, they start passing cynical judgements on those that actually do suffer from suicide to the point of following through.
I just can't imagine ANYONE that supposedly knows the disease of depression, or mental illness as well as you claim could have such a distant criticizing complete polar opposite opinion of other people that are basically not much different than you claim to be.
Maybe I'm wrong about you, and maybe I'm not.
In the end all that matters is that you running around disrespecting peoples family members you know nothing about is pretty classless.
And no you keep your psychiatrists number, I deal with my own LCSW and have great success.
I don't hate people, I don't fantasize about dying, I haven't had a suicidal thought in many years and I'm happy I enjoy life. You should maybe find a new one it seems that it's not working out real well.
I also find tomatoes disgusting however strangely I find them tasteless too. So how does something w/o taste register so appalling to me?
Then there's the incidence of "limb reduction" etc amongst children whose mothers took these drugs during pregnancy.
