Nice ! Different mid-frequencies and a broader clean-gain range ?

There won't be too much difference in the gain I don't think, but yeah, 660hz and 1khz instead of the stock freqs.

Sweet! Any idea how Tim is getting these graphics printed on the pedals?

I'm not sure, but I do know he outsources the actual printing.

It's very pretty!

@Sensei Tim made me a regular looking 300 that is supposed to have a different taper on the gain pot. So it's the same range, but with a slower taper at the low end of the range. It's the only one that I've used so I don't know how it compares, but I'm able to get a completely clean sound when digging in on my active bass, with gain at around 9:00.

@Sensei Tim - how different is this 300 from the older ones? is it possible to swap out a pot on older 300's to get this larger clean sweet spot?

thx!

Cool! I hope Tim does well with it. I can't wait to see a @HondoFelder review. I really love his videos.

Incidentally, since this started as a custom pedal for me, mine will be called the 800EH. Since I figured GK might have a problem calling it the obvious, I thought EH, because Canada.

Thank you my friend! I'm working on the main review now, and I'll have a SoundByte video out this weekend

The Rasta 300 should arrive this week!

I really like the look of this custom 300 too. Sunrise on the Sufferbus edition?

I'm not sure how I stumbled on this thread and others here at TB about the Super Three Hundred, but man I'm glad I did. I picked one up about a week ago and love it. I was really skeptical about it even after watching some video and reading reviews, but this thing is perfect for what I want. It's replacing the SVT-CL and Rivera Mini RockRec that I've been using. (I use the Mini RockRec because I use IEMs and have no cab on stage.) Love it.

My band is all IEM and I love it! I really like the sound of it through my ampeg cab even more than straight di, and have been on a mission to achieve that tone. My omnicab sim works ok, but doesn't get me there. Just purchased a SLO mklll for the ir cab, but not sure that will work either. No amps on stage for me either, anyone tried running it into the SLO?

I haven’t, but I guess you know they make the Cabzone and Cabzone LE for just the cab IR part? There is no “flat” setting in the SLO/Fender TMB-type preamp so you’d probably want to bypass it anyway if you love the Super 300 tone as is. I love my Omnicabsim Deluxe, but am also not ever looking to directly emulate a particular cab

I guess my thinking with the SLO, is that I can add a little tube warmth to the di signal. In the few vid reviews of the 300, I preferred it running into a cab and mic, vs the straight di. I practice with it running into a 2000 or so Era tube ampeg b15 set flat as can be, and it's killer! I get used to that sound, then plug in to play live and I just can't match it with the omnicab deluxe. Concerned about the eq as well, but from what I've heard from the SLO, if they do work together nicely, it will be another tool I can use standalone as well. I'm pretty satisfied with the 300 though, it's really amazing, and ain't going anywhere!

Thanks for posting. I just read through this whole thread looking for this type of info. Should have started on the last page!

I'm currently using a HX Stomp for a direct-to-board, ampless setup, but I prefer the simplicity of typical pedals, so looking to build an ampless setup around my recently acquired 300. Very interested in hearing other people experience with this. Favorite cab sim or IR? Is power amp emulation (cabzone X, DG Element) any benefit with the 300?

I'm going to go search to see if there's an ampless group here...

If you find a group, let me know, doing the same. I really like the omnicab sim deluxe after the 300. I go from a cali 76 cb into ME300, into the omni. The omni is great with the 300, but with the new IR stuff, think I can get closer to what I'm after. Also wanting to add a hint of tube warmth to the 300, wanted a noble to put after it in the chain, but the SLO is half the price, with IR. Cabzone sounds like a good option, but with the card slot on the SLO, you can do the same thing, and I like the baked in tone of it, just hoping it gels with the 300. Omni cab sim does the best job with the 300 of any that I've tried so far though, for me. I'm interested in the power amp Sims as well, but not really wanting to change anything about the 300 other than add what's needed to make it sound like it's coming out of a cab.

It has arrived...only had a few minutes to play with it before my next meeting, but it's definitely staying on a board somewhere; I could definitely see pairing it with my JDI for a small 2-piece board. (Yes, I dumped the mids in this photo, I was messing around having fun).

My only dislike is those dang frequency pots are impossible to read; I'll never understand why Alpha made their plastic shafts like that without a white marker. I'll be taking some tape and white model paint to fill-in the divots myself, so easy enough to fix :bassist:

Tim does amazing work, I'm excited he took on this build, and I'll definitely be buying more ME in the future!
