Super 300 Owners Society

It has arrived...only had a few minutes to play with it before my next meeting, but it's definitely staying on a board somewhere; I could definitely see pairing it with my JDI for a small 2-piece board. (Yes, I dumped the mids in this photo, I was messing around having fun).

My only dislike is those dang frequency pots are impossible to read; I'll never understand why Alpha made their plastic shafts like that without a white marker. I'll be taking some tape and white model paint to fill-in the divots myself, so easy enough to fix :bassist:

Tim does amazing work, I'm excited he took on this build, and I'll definitely be buying more ME in the future!

Awesome! Mines shipping today, along with the Thespian preamp. Can't wait!

I bought this on a whim and should be getting it shortly
I'm a newbie to these types of pedals and have never owned an SVT.
But, I know this is a preamp but without a D.I.
So this wouldn't let's say replace a SansAmp for live DI but would help you achieve an SVT tone to your overall sound?

Yes it will completely eliminate the sansamp if you want a straight svt tone. My band has no amps on stage, IEM, and I'm using it with a compressor in front, and cab sim behind, straight to the board. Just added a shift line olympic mklll to try as tube warmth and for the cab sims. It's working ok, but not there yet. Still like the 300 into the deluxe omnicab sim, works good live.

There is a balanced DI output, but it is 1/4” (for space reasons apparently), so you will need the correct balanced TRS 1/4” to XLR (or balanced TRS 1/4” to 1/4” if you have a balanced 1/4” input to plug into)

Hope you dug it!

If anyone wants to hit me with any questions, fire away or hit me up in my discord. If there are specific clips you want to hear, let me know! I might be able to add them to the review as well.
I had no idea that I wanted one until I saw the vid. Nice.

Hondo has that effect.

Edit: No pun intended

He sold me on the Serek Lincoln bass, the S300 and the Electrofoods Eye of Ra, which are 2 pedals that will always be on my board. The Eye of Ra is the best fuzz I ever owned, but that's for a different post. The Serek bass is incredible, and we all know how good the S300 is.

The Serek is a really cool bass. I love how it's like a modern take on the Gibson Ripper. I also love how Serek seems to offer all their basses in left-handed with no upcharge. That means a ton to us lefties.
