SUPER CHEAP Chinese Rickenbacker... Worth Buying?

You find a cheap Rick copy in a store, price is right, floats your boat? Go for it. On the internet? No siree.
you guys and your "trying" to make fun of translator programs interpretation...lol
well, I get an email weekly from China, and you guys are good at making fun, well here's a real email from SuperTimbre:

I bought some band gear from Supertimbre for my nephew this year so he wouldn't have to use the school's crummy stuff on a recommendation, and it was 100% as advertised, but the funny translation is too priceless, and certainly not a fake branded guitar or bass...
does that make me want to jump on a TradeTang or DHGate item?...not unless I lived in China and could check it out first, or had a friend who would do that for me.

The only people that could close these places down is the Chinese Govt., and they ain't gonna do squat.
It makes total sense if you're gonna spend the equivalent of $5 USD on parts and labor and resell at a couple hundred.
They're cheap
They look like the real thing
Most of the time they're small like the original
Some sound pretty good, or close to the real thing
meh a 12 year old who doesn't know better might, and the first time he plays a real (insert instrument here) may be what keeps him from buying another. i played a few Strat copies that were pretty nice, but after playing a real one the copies were all... lacking.
You knew they were copies though, so didn't expect them to be the same as the real thing. These are counterfeit, which means they're attempting to pass them off as the genuine article. Fender, made in USA etc. It's not going to be obvious to a lot of people that they're fake.
I've been playing for almost 40 years and own 25 or so basses and I bought one because I have owned 2 Rics and had neck stress and bridge pull up issues and got no help from Ric.And at $300,what the heck.If I don't like it I know there would be a buyer that would take it off my hands.It actually plays and sounds good with no flaws and a better bridge then the original.Not many young kids have $2000 to spend on a one trick pony.I not a Ric hater,Just passing on info.Notice the toaster neck and horseshoe bridge pickup. P.S. China owns us now anyway.

Aren't these just cheaply made basses in the general "shape" of a Rick? If so, they will have little or none of the sound characteristics of a Rick.... different construction, different woods, different electronics, pickups and placement, etc.
So, it's just the "shape" you're buying? Is that really so important?If it's just the general look you're after, there are MUCH better choices.
Ever see a Schecter Stargazer?
Aren't these just cheaply made basses in the general "shape" of a Rick? If so, they will have little or none of the sound characteristics of a Rick.... different construction, different woods, different electronics, pickups and placement, etc.

They used a pic of the real deal to sell a cheap copy. This is a Chinese sweat shop. Poor desperate people will do anything to meet the Gov't.'s mandate for sales.
You get what you pay for. That's why I'm still saving my dough for a real one.
Make something cheap enough and people will justify its purchase, to rationalize its existance, even if it is an illegal counterfeit piece __ ____. $2000 for a Ric? Please... ...One trick pony? GMAFB...a Ric can handle virtually any genre of music. And "kids" don't need a high line bass to learn on. That's what Squiers and Epi's are for. No need for counterfeits, IMO...
BTW, the Chinese do not own "us". Yes, I know, virtually everyone owns something Chinese made. In many cases, there is no choice, unless you have the $$$ to have stuff custom made. But by buying fakes like this the purchaser is telling those making these things that it's ok to rip off American products that have not whored their work out to them. It is not...
