Thanks, I thought it was something like that. They are pretty long. I've got them on my bass, but I have yet to buy the mating parts for the strap.

I use their system on all my basses. You do have to double-check the upper horn connection when first attaching it as I've luckily caught the bass a few times after thinking it was connected. Once that connection is made (I just rattle it a bit as a double-check) I've never had it come apart while playing.

Had an idea while I wait for decals… what if I had the neck painted Sahara Taupe leaving the hs scallop and fingerboard maple w/the vintage tint over all of it (like I'm doing on the body) ? Since the ST is in the same tonal range as maple, it could look pretty cool. Usually the only basses that get the unified body/neck same colour treatment are neck-thru's, but I have seen bolt-on necks painted before. What do you think?

I like it! Leaving the scallop on the headstock natural would be a great tie-in with the forearm contour on the body (which I adore, by the way).

Two out of two thumbs ups - we're on a roll! Yes, the back of the neck and hs with the only maple showing on the fingerboard and the hs face scallop. Once it's been painted the Sahara Taupe, the entire body and neck will get a final coat of vintage tint as a transparent patina. It will warm up the otherwise drab chocolate malt colour and the exposed wood in the scallops and fb. I'm going for a unified look here with some subtly different tones but all in the same family. And I don't currently own a bass with the neck painted so I'm thinking, why not?

The full inset is pretty trick - but I just know myself when it comes to leaving the strap-lok strap behind! So the 1/2 inset is insurance/compensation for spacing-out!

Also, only a couple of my basses have a rear upper horn attachment. I liked that design on my Parker basses. (works great!) So I have a dedicated strap-lok strap just for those basses! (top male attachment is flipped to the outside) Sorry, that sounds a little odd…

lower peg - a bit of filling yet before sending

control cavity cover sanded matte and ready to paint

full frontal mock-up - didn't weigh it (no pre installed) but it's a good weight and hangs nice - low 8's for sure which rocks my world! Took off the tape ovals to do some final sanding on the neck and will sanding-seal it before the decals go on. (in progress)

and finally, taped off sections for finishing leaving 1/16th" at the edges for safe release and final careful edge filing
