Thanks @Peter Murray! As a P Bass lover, the wide nut, “substantial” neck, and 19 mm bridge spacing should be perfect for me.

Just so I fully understand... on the H-II, when the tone knob is pulled out it activates the piezo system and becomes a blend (or volume?) for the piezo signal. Does this mean there’s no tone control with the piezo active?

Oh, and what flats are they shipping with?

Wow, these look and sound awesome! Seems a decent price too, if the finishing touches are alright. Do these come with a case?

Odd strategy to have certain colors and finishes tied to specifics like number of pickups or fretless.

I think he said D’Addario. So I’m assuming Short Scale Chrome Flats.

This came today. Been playing with it the last 6 hours. This thing is a tonal powerhouse. You can get all kinds of sounds out of it. Each knob makes a difference. The Piezo pickup is different. Seems to have the most affect when playing with effects pedals.

The neck is definitely not what I’m used to in a short scale but in a good way. The width at the nut gives it a nice chunky feel. Think P-bass. But still thin and fast.

I’m still messing with pickup combinations. They all have a purpose. I feel like you can make this thing fit in the mix with any type of music.

Only downsides for me is the tone knob feels very flimsy. Not much resistance when turning the knob. Not as much as the volume knobs anyways. And for $1300, I feel like a hard case should be included. The good news it is the same length as my G&L Tribute electric guitars and fits perfectly in my Mono M80.

A couple of very small scratches in the finish near the neck pickup. And I mean very small. Not bad enough for me to send it back.

Other than that, this feels very well built. Much more so than a $600 Mustang P/J or $800 SG Special Bass. (The only two Short Scale basses I’ve owned).
Very well balanced. Zero neck dive. The translucent blue finish is very cool looking.

I strictly play short Scale basses now. And this one is definitely the most versatile and well built I’ve owned. This is also the first bass I’ve had Flats on. And they feel odd but I’m sure that will pass. May try some rounds later but for now, this thing is good to go. I’d recommend it highly.

If you want to try some different strings, I’m a big fan of GHS Pressure Wounds. Good compromise between rounds and flats, sounding very thumpy but still with some roundwound character... bite/growl, but no zing. I’ve not tried the shortscale set, but I’m thinking they’ll be the first thing I try when I inevitably get sick of the flats.

After watching that Doug Wimbish video, I think this has to be the best short-scale bass available.

After watching the same video, I thought DW is an amazing bass player and possibly a lunatic. Didn’t tell me anything as to whether I’d want one of these basses or not!

After a few other clips...yeah, these basses are rad :)

Oh, I don't want one…pretty much set with what I have and simply can't go short-scale...but for people who can't handle long-scale basses, this definitely looks like the way to go.
