I found both of those pretty annoying until I replaced the pickups with noiseless ones (Lindy Fralin Split Coils for the Jazz and JBE humbuckers for the Rickenbacker).

My local Supro dealer (Quest Musique in Winnipeg (Canada)) didn't have any basses in stock either. They had to order it in from their distributor.
They received some Supro stuff on their last UPS delivery, but still no sign of my Huntington II :(

That's a very nice looking case and I might just need to order one.

I don't mean to complain about a bass I don't even have in hand yet, but I really wish that my new $1100 USD bass would have at least come with the $40 gig bag included.

My Huntington III in transparent blue just arrived at my work! I opened it up to make sure it got here safely. Very light weight, solid and apparently well-built. The blue body stain is flat, which nicely matches the flat black neck and headstock. Comes with a truss rod wrench and bridge saddle tool and a little tag identifying the D'Addario XL flat-wound strings. I'll have more to say about it when I get it home and plug it in.

My $39.99 gig bag should also be here by the end of the day. Hopefully ...

Okay, the $39.99 gig bag arrived. My advice: don't waste your money on this!! It's super-thin and very cheaply made. I'm going to try returning mine to Zzounds when I have a chance. I'm sure there's a nicely-made guitar bag that'll actually provide some protection. This one won't!

On another note, I put some round-wound strings on my new H3. I had to play with the string gauges and pickup height a bit, but I'm pretty satisfied with the sound. The slap sound is good, but I'll have to work on "popping." The three pickups don't leave much room for that!

I just yesterday found out that my bass is on back order and the distributor is waiting on more stock from Supro. I'm pretty disappointed since I placed my order and paid my down payment to the local shop I ordered it from like 5 weeks ago and I'm just finding this out now. Not Supro's fault by any means, but I am kind of annoyed at the shop for not telling me that up front. Should find out a little more info next week. Hopefully it's not another 5 weeks till delivery, because I've got a bunch of gigs lined up for January and February that I'd love to use the H2 on.

I guess at least this gives me the chance to add one of the hard cases to my order. Maybe I'll pick up a set of short scale GHS Pressurewounds while I'm at it...

Tell me about it. It’s been hovering close to -30 C (about -20F) here since before Christmas. We were apparently colder than the North Pole and colder than Mars on Christmas Day. The "Extreme Cold Warning" finally lifted on NYE at about 5:00 pm (right after I finished shoveling for my party :p), and today it's a balmy -18 C. It's downright lovely out compared to the last couple weeks.

Anyway, to make this post relevant: Still no Supro. I'm hoping for another update later this week.

I’ve been playing my Huntington III for a couple of weeks now, including a recording session that my fusion-y jazz band did yesterday. This bass is fantastic! The three pickups plus piezo bridge provide a huge tonal pallet to work with. Since it’s passive, it doesn’t have the deep bass of my Sadowsky and Lull. But it has lots of punchy goodness and provides a pretty compelling J bass / P Bass passive sound. At first I was unsure of slapping with all those pickups in the way, but I’m getting much more comfortable doing it now.

This is easily one of my best-ever bass purchases. I highly recommend it. (Supro - if you’re reading this, please feel free to sign me up as an endorser and send me more of these :D:thumbsup::smug: ).

Hi, O'Live!

I had to look up "finition" to make sure I answer your question correctly. The bass is very nicely-finished. The black satin finish on the neck feels good in my hand. The rosewood fret board is nicely shaped, the block fret markers are correctly cut and inlaid, and the fretwork is really good. The somewhat-hefty ash body looks good, and the blue finish sets off the gold Clear-Tone pickups nicely. If I were going to change anything about the bass, it would be the matte finish on the body. The color's great and the finish is applied well with no visible flaws, but I think I'd prefer a gloss finish. The blue would "pop" more ...

As I mentioned previously, I didn't like the flat-wound strings. I had to play around with different string gauges until I found what works for me. After adjusting the relief and pickup height and intonating the bridge, it sounds and plays great! (My other basses are getting jealous!)
