How does it sound with RW strings compared to flats?
I think most of the clips I've seen are of the models that come stock with flats, which is also what I have on order (mahogany H2).

Okay, I just received my deluxe Supro gig bag. Apparently I'm a slow learner. This new one, which I paid over $100 for with shipping, might be *okay* for $39.99. The padding on all sides of the bag is much better than the nonexistent padding on the $39 *dust cover.* But the padding on the sides and bottom is still pretty thin, and the stitching on my bag was poorly tied-off and is already starting to pull out. Also, the front pocket *bag-side* zipper is stitched with a single light weight cotton thread. I'm sure it would peel off the bag almost immediately if I were to actually use that pocket. And the super-thin lining in the bag is unlikely to last. This is *made in China* at its worst. I'm sure these bags are almost pure profit for Supro!
So, my strong recommendation is 1) learn from my mistakes and avoid the Supro gig bags at all cost (or throw $150 away like I did), 2) get the hardshell case if you want/need a Supro-branded case, or 3) get a nicely-made guitar gig bag, which is what I should have done.
Okay, now moving on ... I love my Huntington III even more than I hate Supro's bags!! (And that's saying something
After playing around with strings and pickup adjustment, I've discovered that I get my best sound by backing off the pickup volume controls a bit. I get a perfect slap sound with the middle and bridge pickups balanced, and I love the bridge-only and middle-only sounds. If I were to request another model, I would love to have a two pickup Huntington with middle and bridge pickups only. No neck pickup and no piezo (which I've found no real use for). That would leave plenty of extra slap/pop room and still provide lots of tonal variety! Supro could call it the Huntington II BM This is still one of my favorite all-time bass purchases, and I'm having lots of fun regaining my 4-string chops with it! Once I figure out how to get it to and from the gig safely, I'll be totally satisfied.

Ugh! No, I probably couldn’t lift it! (Just kidding!) It looks light, but it's probably several inches too long. Actually, I’d love to get a Mooradian bag. But at $264 or so, they’re pretty pricey!

Gator has a $99 bag that looks good. Lotsa support and protection, and big pockets. I plugged in the bass measurements and Gator says it’ll fit.

Do you think it would fit in a rectangular electric guitar case (ie. stratocaster)?
Breaking News! My Mahogany H2 is finally in at the shop! I'll go get it tonight if I can, but if not it'll have to wait till Saturday.
Question: For those who have them, how has the setup been right out of the box? Wondering if I get it before band practice tonight whether it'll be good to go, or if I should bring a backup bass as well?

It might. I think the body might be too thick, and the knobs may stick up too high. Also, at 41.5" from strap-pin to pointy end of headstock, it's a little long for many guitar cases.
I took measurements of my bass to use for sizing a case. If you do that, you should measure lower bout, waist, upper bout, body length, neck length, overall length and "width" (usually that's thickness). My measurements in that order are:
13" x 8" x 9.5" x 18.5" x 24.5" x 41.5" x 2.75"

So my plans changed which allowed me to go and get my bass last night. I had a chance to play around with it a bit, and here are some quick thoughts:
- The over-all fit and finish of the guitar is really nice. I really like the satin neck, and the transition back to gloss beyond the nut is a really nice touch.
- The gold foil pickups are gorgeous, and living-room wall hanger approved!
- I only played sitting and didn't try it on a strap, but seated playing was quite comfortable and balanced well.
- I really like the neck shape, it does not feel like I'm playing a short scale. On some shorties the frets feel very close together and the neck feels too skinny across the nut, but I'm not getting that thus far on the Huntington.
- Sounded quite good through my headphone practice rig, which consists of a tube preamp and a cab sim, so its a pretty good indication of how it'll sound through an amp. So far I like it best with both pickups all the way up.
- Pick playing sounded great, especially with some compression dialed in.
- The high end sounds very sweet, not harsh at all. Playing high up on the neck has a very nice character to the sound.
- Haven't played with the piezo that much, but it should be nice for adding a bit of an upright vibe to some songs in my country band.
- The mahogany body is much less red than some google image pictures would lead you to believe. Under bright white fluorescent lights it's quite brown, but under more subdued warmer lighting it does take on a darkish red tone. I'll be curious to see how this comes across under bar lighting.
- Does not fit in my guitar-sized gig bag, and is about 1/2" too long to fit in my Stratocaster hard case. If the headstock were flat across the top instead of having that top corner that points out, it would fit in my guitar case. Oh well.
- Oddly enough, it does kinda fit in my Fender-molded SKB case. See below.
- I'm really tempted to order some GHS Pressure Wounds, but I've decided I'm going to leave the stock flats on until they mellow a little to see what that does to the sound.
- The strings it shipped with are very purple at the headstock, not the typical blue-ish of D'Addario Chromes. Could these be GHS flats?

Yes, they're D'Addario flats, but the silks are definitely not as blue as the Huntington I recently tried.
As for the piezo, it sends this bass to the stratosphere…I wouldn't even consider any other short-scale, and I only had the opportunity to try the Huntington I.

Have you considered a Gator Pro Go gig bag?
The neck cradle is held in by Velcro so you can take it out and move it down an inch or so.

@Peter Murray agreed they are likely still Chromes. I've just never seen Chromes with purple silks like that.
I'll definitely need to get some sort of gig bag for it, but haven't started looking around yet.
It fits well enough into my SKB case or my other generic rectangular bass case that I feel comfortable taking it to my country gigs next weekend.
I think the Huntington II is the way to go, I'm just hoping Supro offers it in Poppy Red soon.
They recently added Ocean Blue Metallic.
If Russo's Music had the Huntington II instead of the Huntington I, I probably would've put a mahogany one on layway, though…it looks great in person.

I’m sure that all the Huntington’s are great! For me, I can’t imagine living without the Huntington III bridge pickup. It has the same punchy vibe as the bridge pickups in my other j-type basses, and that’s my main go-to tone. The middle pickup reminds me a bit of a Pbass pickup, and the neck is that Fender Jbass neck pickup sound. Supro packed a lot of tone into a small package!
Mine was very nicely set up right out of the box. So far I've slightly tweaked the intonation and played with the pickup heights, but nothing else needed adjusting. No fret buzz.

First rate setup, IMO. The neck is very stable, fretboard is level and the frets are nicely dressed. I tweaked the relief after changing strings to round wound. No buzz with finger style (medium attack), slap or pick style.
