Sweetwater

Right now I have a 20% off coupon from GC. Sweetwater has the item I'm going to buy but I will save about $80 buying it from GC even after sales tax. There is dealer in Brooklyn that carries mostly audio gear. I can call them up and they will give me a substantial discount off their advertised price plus no sales tax even though I'm only about 30 miles away from them in the next state. Every dealer's advertised prices are pretty much the same and some will give good discounts if you call them. I've never gotten Sweetwater to come down in price on anything and then they constantly call you trying to sell you more gear. There may be some advantage to buying certain high end items from them that most dealers don't carry but for common everyday gear I get fine service, free shipping, as well as better prices from dealers close to home.

is sweetwater a trusted site? who has used this website and how was their experience?

Yes!
Trusted.
Reliable.
Excellent customer service to include follow up by an assigned sales rep.
They are probably the best as far as big box/online distributors are rated.
And yes, every shipment comes with a bag of candy. I'm partial to the Bit O'Honey.:)

I buy through them when I can. They are much more difficult to get discounts from than other online retailers. That said, I've been using the same rep for at least five years so I get the sense they take care of their people.

I’ve bought almost every new bass there.. and most all basses with +$400 price tag gets a 55 point inspection and adjustment. I’ve never been dissatisfied with a purchase. Easy returns and a sales associate always follows up on your purchase to be sure that you are happy.

Wait, it literally comes with a bag of candy?
Wow. That’s service right there!

No seriously how cool is that?

I can only say that their customer service is the best I have ever experienced. From having an assigned sales person to them bending over backwards to make sure I am satisfied. I ordered a Tech21 VTDI pedal from them when they were first released. The one I got developed a horrible 60 cycle hum within a couple of days. I contacted my sales engineer and I had a new one next day with a return shipping label and two bags of candy. Plus the sales engineer called me shortly after it arrived to see if anything else was needed and that I was satisfied with the service. I live in Illinois yet they still sent it next day shipping. That is customer service I can get used to. I have been a customer ever since. Bought a lot of new gear from them, just ordered another Tech21 DP3X from them yesterday. Will get here tomorrow. As stated previously, they have the best customer service period. Also, I have bought many "demo" effect pedals from them and they all were 100% out of the box. They take care of their customers. I can't say enough good things about them.

No. I guarantee this is me only. I want to buy a new bass and some pedals and wondering whether Sweetwater reliable that all.
I've purchased 2 basses from them. One was special order, SB J-Bass with maple fretboard, which they don't stock, and a noir P Bass. The bass they sent was the EXACT one pictured online, it had a super dark fretboard. I wouldn't hesitate to make a purchase there.
