I rock, therefore I am.
Most people use an occasional cuss word for emphasis. I’ve read that highly intelligent people swear and use cuss words. We’re adults here, or aspiring adults who interact in the real world. Our language should not be censored on this forum. Most artists are open minded and use creativity in their language and should be able to use all the linguistic tools available. I’m a cunning linguist who needs to use my poetic license.

Cussing, swearing, profanity and such, while it may be emotionally satisfying to the proponent, adds no logic or additional useful descriptors to a post, therefore, x-nay on the ussing-cay.

I had a run-in with a contractor today & he was a smart-mouth to beat smart-mouths.
I left the room before I punched him square in the face & was hurling expletives for a long while afterwards. Within earshot for the first bit.

The guy saw me several hours later & acted completely different. I'm not sure if it's because he realized how badly he ticked me off or because it was in the presence of other customers.

You mean like at the Brass Mug? :)
Being fecund with excrement is okay, but telling people to self-fornicate is out of the question.
When some of my kids were young, the then 6 year old would get the then 2 year old to say the word, "ship."
over and over and over and over and over...
After about the third "ship" pronounciation/attempted enunciation episode, a parent stepped in, while pursing his lips as to not laugh again, and it was squelched; for the most part.
Both forms of the word "ship" can now be appreciated, and enunciated/pronounced, correctly by the young adults.

 Plenty of places you can go if you want to curse. TalkBass tends to be a bit classier than a lot of other online communities. I suspect that is why TalkBass is the premier online bass community.

I spent five years in the Navy learning all those words in many different languages. Some sound worse than others... Greek comes to mind first. It's a struggle for me sometimes to edit what comes out of my mouth before my brain is engaged. Got me walked out of work once for "creating a hostile work environment" even though the target freely admits I had a point. The struggle is real, but I understand that as a public forum TB tries to maintain an atmosphere that promotes the biggest bass soapbox that offends the fewest number of people. I actually like the fact that certain subjects are taboo. Keeps the discourse as friendly as possible among the disparate elements of our bass community. It is easier to edit as I type than to edit as I speak... thank Deus.
