There was a "lawsuit" American that was for sale in the TB classifies for a while. I looked at that one almost everyday, but didn't have the funding. I haven't tried either. I was learning about the different neck codes to find a P neck.

Not yet. The only basses near me, besides my own, are a MIM Fender P and my old Peavey Fury.

Slim pickings during the holiday season, usually picks up around spring break and summer.

I play with a couple co-workers, mostly acoustic. Not a paying gig, but still a good time.

Place the bass in a museum until it ages to the degree of relic'ed that you want.
Can you over-cook a neck when roasting it?
Nah, did the garage gig steady for a few years. Limited time with all my kids
