TapeWound Club~Anyone?

In order to summarize: i would definitely recommend it. The sound of that little bass somehow reminds me to that of a double bass, but somehow (and more pronounced) also to that of a deep sounding classical guitar. To me the only disadvantage is the difficulty to practice flageolets, so i need a 2nd instrument side by side - i do not want to swap those strings against - say - GHS pressure wounds. The Pyramids are just perfect for what they are designed to.

Turns out it was the amp at the rehearsal place i was playing through, played these through another amp and they are actually darker than some flatwounds

Not for these strings specifically, but - I do it by ear, through trial and error. In this instance, the usual result of raising the pickup to increase output is; more signal; more signal; noisy weirdness. At that point, it's too high; lower the pickup down to the last "more signal", and you're good. Be sure you count the turns of the screws as you go up; and once you've got the pickup where you want? You can measure the pickup height for future reference. :thumbsup:

I use ETB92 series Nylons on everything with no issues at all. They play great on Rics.

Labella White coppercore tapewounds have proven to be a great sonic pairing for my 4004C.

I love tapes and have been using them for years, but I'm having some buzz issues on one of my fretlesses. It's a Squier P with a Mighty Mite neck. Pro install and set up but I can't get the action to my liking. Not saying it's the strings, but I might try a set of flats.
They're Fender strings. Maybe the low tension is the culprit?
Crazy winter weather isn't helping either.
