But I was also thinking of employing a looper to multilayer.
I generally prefer to make recordings that are representative of live performance, but I really like working with the looper - it let's me put a little texture behind my soloing.
Do you think using a looper in a live mode (no pre-recorded loops,) would violate the spirit of your challenge?

hurm. i'm cool with that, but does that mean one take per track? or is it ok to have a few tracks that are each one take?
layering is fun. and i do like seperating the instruments when recording.
but whatever you guys choose. i've never done one of these so it's y'all's call.
