I am going to alter the color of mine a little. I am going to add just a little color to the body to less accent the pick guard and darken the body. I think with just a hint of darkness it will give the bass a richer look

hurrah! a club i can join, finally!
i just strung up my M 5er with some DRs, and even tho' i've never been a fan of stainless steel strings, i have managed to fall even more deeply in love with this bass.
kloc, is there a tech in the area you'd recommend? i'm a little wary about GC, and... well, daddy's don't like gurls.

Another option would be Corey at Rock City Guitars in Davis Sq. He'd say Jim's far more experienced, but Corey specializes in Bass so...
I'd say to tell Jim I sent you, but he doesn't know me.

I just recorded our new EP with a TBC Single M 4 string, holy cow, the engineers jaw dropped when he heard how it sounded, and it sounds goooood through the whole thing.

Did you get that from Quadzilla? If so, I'm glad. I wanted that bass, but fives are my main priority, and my TBC AP-500M sounded so good, I knew I wasn't letting it go any time soon.

My TBC (AP-500M) has as good b string as I have ever heard on a 34" scale bass. It is great, just the rest of the bass.

What a sweet bass! I don't need to rave on about it but I'll just concur to what everybody else has said about these basses. The only thing that bugs me is the noise when you take your hands off anything metal (usual with cheap basses, although nothing else about this bass seems cheap!), and like others have said, the treble boost/cut. But i just dump that ho' and it's good to go!
Oh and Snarf, the B string is good. Although I'm spoiled by the B string on my Lakland, it's still quite solid, not as tight and refined as the Lakland but definitely VERY big sounding. I'd like to get a tapered B string on it to see if it makes it a bit more focused.

I can finally join the club! I got my AP-400M in the mail yesterday. But I have a problem. I ordered a Black Cherry but when I opened the box the pick guard was midnight blue. 
Do you think it would be a good idea to send it back? I don't know if I would have to pay shipping to send it back. Does the owner even have another AP-400M in stock?
