TBC club

hurrah! a club i can join, finally!

i just strung up my M 5er with some DRs, and even tho' i've never been a fan of stainless steel strings, i have managed to fall even more deeply in love with this bass.

kloc, is there a tech in the area you'd recommend? i'm a little wary about GC, and... well, daddy's don't like gurls.

Best tech in new england is... oh heck, I can never remember how to spell his name. Jim Mauradian, his shop is over top of Cambridge Music Center, right at the Porter Sq. stop on the red line.

Another option would be Corey at Rock City Guitars in Davis Sq. He'd say Jim's far more experienced, but Corey specializes in Bass so...

I'd say to tell Jim I sent you, but he doesn't know me. :D

original USA 4 string before lightwaves, this one is long gone, but I still have the 5 string ash version I can post later

Nice I have the same bass except mine is a purple/blueish sparkle finish

I was taking pics to sell, but figured I would post this, as they are pretty rare, USA TBC, 5 string MM, ash, red burst

Dude did you buy that bass on ebay say...a little less than a year ago? If so I may have owned that bass for a little bit. Whats the serial number?

What a sweet bass! I don't need to rave on about it but I'll just concur to what everybody else has said about these basses. The only thing that bugs me is the noise when you take your hands off anything metal (usual with cheap basses, although nothing else about this bass seems cheap!), and like others have said, the treble boost/cut. But i just dump that ho' and it's good to go!

Oh and Snarf, the B string is good. Although I'm spoiled by the B string on my Lakland, it's still quite solid, not as tight and refined as the Lakland but definitely VERY big sounding. I'd like to get a tapered B string on it to see if it makes it a bit more focused.

:)

I can finally join the club! I got my AP-400M in the mail yesterday. But I have a problem. I ordered a Black Cherry but when I opened the box the pick guard was midnight blue. :crying:
Do you think it would be a good idea to send it back? I don't know if I would have to pay shipping to send it back. Does the owner even have another AP-400M in stock? :help:

the phone seems to be the best way to get through to TBC. I got my AP500M a couple days ago and I think its great! My only complaint is that the nut is cut a bit low. I don't have any noise problem like Needmoney.
