TC RH450 Club

If you can or have to do it, the RH is great for that.
My stage initiation to IEM use was ampless, and didn't work out so well for me. I suppose it would have been a better experience if there had been an ambient mic in the monitor mix. I felt surrealistically separated from the room, and ended up popping both buds out in the first set, popping one out in the second set, and by the third, I was okay...just okay. Trying to hear myself from FOH was passable at points and impossible at others. A few more not so great tries at it (including a snafu where my monitor antenna fell off inside the rack, so no one could figure out the problem until the next day) left me deciding that with IEMs, I want some kind of cabinet on stage for feel and for back up. But if ampless is mandatory (not the case for me), what are you gonna do?
I generally used my B3 for the amp and cabinet sims when going ampless.
They do actually. I had a couple gigs this weekend and on stage they sounded amazing. Heresy my main gig board so you can see what Im using. I have a second I bring that is usually ran after this one.
We have 2-12's right under the stage at the Bass Station. For feel. I didn't even know they were there until I went up on stage and and felt them during some between service music. We just went to two services so the formats have changed somewhat. We used to do a closing song and then after we'd just jam instrumentally for 10-15 minutes.
Has anyone or does anyone use an Aguilar TH DI pedal in front of the RH450? How did or do you like it?
Ok. I just finished playing both services this morning for the first time on a mostly silent stage. I used my pedalboard with just my SA Progammable EQ And my always on CmatMods Compressor this time into my RH450 Head and straight into the board/FOH. Soundman said I was clipping on one loud fast song and made a slight adjustment for second service and everything was good to go! This is his first experience with my or any TC head although he knows of them. I kind of went in blind and just used one of my regular fretless presets with my PentaBuzz and he said he loved it and it cut through and was clear enough to hear all my vibrato through heavy rock style guitar(Worship Leader has a very Hendrix style of playing), AG, KB, drums and 4 singers. I usually use the Eden 210/212 stack that's there, which is gone(nowhere to set my coffee) and I had to bring a music stand to set the head on at an angle for easy access for knob twiddling, which I did zero of! He likes it a lot and I'm on the hunt now for a used RH450 so I don't have to breakdown and setup all the time and I'll just leave it there! Me? Happy kid at 58! Score +one for the TC TEAM!
I love my TH. I don't use it for the dirt at all. Its always on and i shape my sound to each place we play with it. Get one. You won't regret it.
The board posted previously is my main gig board. This is my latest version.
Those 450s available for 399 are cheaper than used ones earlier this year.
Ok. So I picked up the RH450 and am using it at practice. We are currently all IEM and electronic drums. I'm using the DI right into the mixer. I like it. I've been bugging lots of people about different cab ideas. Thanks all for the advice. Well, I just ordered a RS210 and RS212 today. Hopefully I'll have them by next weekend for a show. So I'll have a nice RH450/210/212 tower. I'll post back once I'm up and running.
I had that setup for my first go around with TCE. Just incredible! I played in a band between 2 Marshall stacks and was told it was the best bass rig they ever heard by a few different sound guys. You'll be pleased!
I am going with a triple 112 stack. I'll let you know how it goes but I imagine it's going to be DEEP.
Thats what I currently run. I'm happy with the setup. I usually run it in an upside down T formation. 212 bottom, 210 stacked vertically.
I saw a local bass player doing that at a festival I played at. He said it really gave more bass. I'm hoping to have 3 different rig combinations. 210 for practice and smallest bars. 212 for bigger places and both for biggest places. Of course I'll bring both cabs to the next few shows just because they are new.
The nice thing is the stack doesn't take any more room, no matter where you play.
Anybody notice they are running out of stock of the RH450's. I tried to order one for my IEM setup at Lighthouse Church to leave there. ProStar is out of them., so was MF. No more bargains from what I can find.
yeah. MF was out of stock last week and not available to order. I'm lucky I got the 399 deal. Probably dropping the model. Wonder if the BH series is going to be their main line.
RS210 and RS212 just showed up on the front doorstep. RH450 is at the guitar players house. Practice tomorrow night, gig Saturday night. Cant wait to try them out.
Make sure you have 2 - 3' or 6' Speakon cables. Or at least a 1/4" to Speakon and a Speakon to Speakon cable.
Thanks... very easy to forget those. I have 2 3' speakon cables ordered.. should be here shortly. I have 2 1/4" speaker cables. Ive already tested and the speakon connector on the RH450 is a combo, I tested it with a 1/4-1/4 cable to my old Black Widow cab and it worked. I assumed that the the RS21x cabs use the same combo jack so I can use my 1/4" cables until the speakons show up. But I'll test over lunch today. I'll test by pluggin my Peavey Bass head into both RS cabs.
The 212 cab sure is deep, and a little heavier than I expected. ( I knew the dimensions and weight, but was a little surprised when I upacked it )
