TC Sub 'N' Up Octaver! New Octave Pedal!

Absolutely, but where is the incentive for builders to innovate and musicians to develop the state of the art if the only way people find the new capability is because the buy the device based on groupspeak on how well it cops the old sound? Pedal makers not being accepted for their new stuff without proving that they can emulate the old seems slightly perverse to me.

TL;DR - I'm keeping it, and I actually prefer the Classic mode
Only had a chance to play through headphones from my amp, and I'm planning to use the upper octave much more than the lower ones, so keep that in mind.
The poly mode's upper octave has this weird artifact that sounds like a high-rate phaser, it's most apparent when hitting a muted string, though it's silent when sliding (on flats, at least) It's not louder than the octave and you only really notice it during busier playing, still odd.
It's not as apparent on the lower octaves, but they have something too - the octave note always lasts slightly longer than what you're playing. It's a quick thing and it almost gives a reverb-like effect; it could be considered a fattening quality, since it's by no means an actual hinderance (maybe someone running a 50/50 clean mix might think it sounds odd, though?)
Classic mode is EQ'd differently than poly (most apparent on the upper octave) and I think it sounds great. No weird artifacts. The tracking is fine, not exactly night and day compared to the poly mode, though that might just be from the artifact.
Haven't used the app yet, the default TP sounds cool though.
The tracking is better on the upper octave compared to the lower two. The lower one seemed to do fine on the E, by the way.
I'll have to see if the poly artifact is still noticeable through an amp or if anyone else hears it, it's always possible I got a dud. Very happy with the Classic mode though.

Enough people seem to accept the pedals. I think TC will survive if a few like an OC-2 better.
And I guess that if the pedal makes a claim but then fails to deliver then criticism is fair...

Roland made a huge mistake by replacing the OC-2 with the OC-3, they're no longer available new, and the pedals that claim to do OC-2 sound are either too big, ridonkulous expensive, or don't quite nail it. Sure, I have one, but it won't last forever. To me, it's a no-brainer for a digital pedal to include a good OC-2 sound as one of its options. It's only by far the world's most favorite octave pedal.
I couldn't stand it any longer, now have a sub 'n' up on the way from Prymaxe. Check this demo, way cool even though not with bass
I had just decided not to get one of these just yet, but then Pryxmaze had them for under $100. Should be here by Saturday.

Prymaxe was selling them on ebay open box for $94.95 + free shipping. That's what I did.

So a little feedback now that mine is out of the box and on the board:
Tracking is solid on Sub and Sub 2, except on open E. Maybe the open string is too boomy, but it tracks low E okay (not perfectly, but okay) when fretted on my 5 string. Up is a bit more solid tracking-wise than sub - overall the tracking is good, I don't foresee any problems in a band setting. I haven't really noticed any tracking difference between the three modes, although the blend is a little different between them. The default tone print has a chorus too and sounds very organ like - not SUPER useful, but really demonstrates the potential. Like @LSMFT6 - I prefer classic, but after goofing around for a bit, I think there's a LOT of positives about this unit and some nice potential with the other settings.
If you want to cop an OC2 or a POG sound (or both) you'll probably be disappointed - if that's what you're after, get an OC2 or a POG. If you want a solid, versatile, and fun octave that does't break the bank, give the sub n up a shot. I'm really happy with mine.

I got mine today from Long and McQuade. The classic mode is great for a standard octaver, but what really worked for me was getting into the Toneprint editor and modifying the octa-drive patch. I added some low bass eq to the low octave, and assigned the Sub2 knob to the octave up drive. Very happy with the results. Now, in the toneprint setting- I have a good octaver, a great octave up, and the option for a flute-like sustaining octave up sound. Who knows, I might get around to making a short video. . .
I'd love to know the settings for that. I can't think of a scenario where I'll need the Sub2. Love the idea of using the knob like that.
Looking forward to having some time to play with the Pedal more. My wife being sick and my kid getting ready for a karate belt test has sucked up all of my free time. Soon...

Quick update:
Sub N Up killed it at practice last night - it was really great. This band does a mix of 90s pop and alternative - I used it almost exclusively on the pop songs and it was right there with me. Definitely a keeper.
