Team Trace Elliott Pt 3

It has a off switch on the horn? That guy toasting his Avatar by just using the attenuator instead of eq puts the frighteners on me.

I run swr 2x10 vertically on top of my 1518 when I don't have PA support. It sounds very good around the room. Have a crack with the 1518 on its side under the combo on its side, lines all the cones up.

The horn on the 1210 has a 3 way switch - Low, Off, and High; inexplicably in that exact order

Here is my new acquisition, round port 1518t sitting under my 1210 combo with my 1986 Peavey USA Foundation:
Haven't had too much chance to try it out, but it seems to do a nice job of taking some of the mid-range "honkiness" out of the 1210, and adding some more meat to the low end. I know for some folks mixing driver sizes is the devil, but it seems like it is going to work out for me.

Update, now I have it pretty well dialed in, I REALLY like this setup. :hyper:

I was doing [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], and WOW. I remember Trace gear being much easier to come by when I got my 7215, but that was back during the Kaman distribution days. I'm in the NYC metropolitan area, and it's at least an hour's drive to ANY Trace Elliot dealer in my area. It's disappointing to know that the choices for some great bass amplification are so limited right now.

I plugged in my zip code - I have to go to frickin Canada...?

Theoretically GC is a Trace dealer (or at least used to be). But they don't ever have anything on the floor (unless they happen to have a used amp or cab). Actually, that quasi-dealer status worked in my favor recently. I was trying to track down a footswitch for my 1210. I knew I could get it direct from Peavey for like $120 with shipping, but I was hoping GC might give me a better deal because they "owed me" for a customer service SNAFU (and I was getting some studio headphones and a guitar case at the same time). When I asked about the footswitch, the guy said, well, maybe we have one in the back, let me check... He came back out with one about 10 minutes later and said I have to talk to the manager about the price. A few minutes later they both come back and the manager says "here you go". They just gave it to me. To be fair I did spend about $250 that day, but still, I was expecting to have to spend another 60-80 at least on the footswitch.

I finally got it done. Quite some time ago, I got an old 2102 cab in pretty bad shape to restore, and it's finally done, save one or two small things.

I'm going to update my thread on it in a few minutes with more pics. I figured all you TE guys would like to see it.

I finally have a TE cab again! :hyper:

Two questions: Does anyone know a source for cheap skid rail? I want to put some on the back and bottom to help protect it. And - What do you guys think I should do about the TE badge? (I need to order one.) I have no problems at all with the standard black and green one but I was thinking that a different one like the simple black and silver guitar amp badge might look better on this since it's pretty modified. It'll probably be hard to source though. Opinions?
