@Bassie: Bulky or not, i love TE sound thats why i want it for PRE cuz i have poweramp that can give this lil sucker some extra BLING :)

@Mudd: i was thinking the same with the LINE OUT cuz i already owned the Twin Valve and that was it if you just wanted to use preamp section of the head.

OK guys ive tried the LINE OUT to power amp, but something is weird :) ive connected it to Carvin DCM 1000, but it's not as loud as standalone. Is there something else in this or it's just like that?

Ohh and one more thing! I took the amp out of the combo and im waiting for 2U rack shelv wich fits perfectly, so the amp goes into rack.... man... such a good amp for good money... ME HAPPY :)

The Carvin may require a hotter signal to develop power.

I find my 250w trace has significantly more balls than a 300w power amp. I measured the power amp's voltage at clip light and it is defintely a 300w amp, so there's watts, real watts, and Trace watts.

@Downunder: Yeah thats probably it :) its a good thing cuz now i can let the RBI and Carvin go hahahaha :)

For all of you who didn't knew, these COMBO amps are the same size as any other 2U rack unit, thats why i bought this combo, just to take the amp out. Now im just waiting for this:

And put it over the amp, because they are '' naked '' when you take them out :)

I found this at my local guitar shop.

I demoed a 90's 250 watt SMX into a four ohm 1524 cab. Before playing through it I was concerned that it wouldn't be enough power. I turned it up and it was like getting kicked by a mule! More than enuff juice, just need the $.

Thanks. I owned a Trace combo for almost 20 years, and I've heard tons of SS and hybrid heads, just none of the all-valvers.

I'll try to give one an audition somehow. I'll probably dig it. I'm playing a Fender tuber now.

Question for the team. I get a strange static through my 1210 from time to time, which is independent of what the master volume is set at. In fact it does the same thing even if the amp is muted and doesn't matter if the tube circuit is engaged or not or if an instrument is plugged in. It is just a minor nuisance when playing at low volume and doesn't really affect playability otherwise. Seems like it lasts longer than "just warming up"

I seem to recall reading somewhere that this was a known issue with the earlier 1210s. If so what is the fix? Is it possible that once of the tubes is going out? I have not replaced them since I have owned the unit. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with my ss GP7SM head, and it was filter caps. Don't know if this is exactly relevant, but your symptoms sound the same.

GP 7 SM 130 in RACK!!!

This baby is so DAMN loud!!! On 5 and i can cut thru mix like a boss against 2x peaveys 6505+ and Mesa cabs :)

Trace is so underrated, dunno why people didn't realize that allready.

I have one of those right behind me (w/original factory headcase, no less)...for me to use it here inside the house comfortably, gain = 5 at most, vol = 1, and that's basically because the 1/2-notch really doesn't have any output.

And I still wonder why they put the effects-loop jacks on the front.
