My smooth jazz band had a gig last night. I used my Black Jag 900 and my TecAmp M210. I can't imagine better tone coming out of any rig. The combination was just awesome. The tone was full, fat, punchy, bright, but not brittle, everything you would want from a rig. My gain was set at 11:00, the amp was set flat except I had the taste knob at 11:00. My Master volume was set at 9:00, never needed more. The M210 is a very efficient cab, a little volume goes a long way. I had the tweeter set at the third soft attack setting. I had my MTD AG 5 set almost flat with a little bass boost. That amp/cab combination is very intuitive. The slightest technique changes are heard. This is my go to rig. The amp weighs 6.2 pounds and the cab, 39 pounds. My band mates loved the rich tones I was getting from this rig. As we all know, more people would own TecAmp gear but for the cost. It's worth saving your money and buying it, it is really high quality gear.
I bought my rig from Glenn at Austin Bass Traders. What a knowledgeable guy about all things bass. He knows a few of you guys, and speak very highly of you. I highly recommend him for all of your bass needs.
