Ok so the P-bass demo on the Oxford at 0:30 sounds EXACTLY like Allen Woody of Gov't Mule when they cover "30 Days in the Hole" off the "Live with a Little Help from our Friends" album.

Me too, in fact I was surprised when the guitar started playing on the demo vid, I was so instantly thinking The Ox on "Live at Leeds".

So now I might have to get the leeds and the VT and let them slug it out. Though I too was not crazy about the tone on the money riff, the Who stuff opens a wide range of possibilities in my mind.....

But first a VT.....I am not really after JE's sound, but more like a Jack Bruce ish growl...and I think the VT would nail it. But I think they (Tech 21) are really onto something with the Leeds.

Not yet. On the site they say Late April / Early May.

On their site go to Products->Sansamp->Character Series. First time I looked under Effects.

My prediction is that with digital amps getting cheap and light that powered cabs will become the next popular wave of downsizing. The amp will match the cab, maybe have a DSP built in and we'll just swap out preamps like the VT and others. No need to worry about ohms or anything.

Bergantinos are somewhat expensive though. A "mainstream" manufacturer doing it at a relatively low price point (maybe Peavey?) will be getting a lot of business, I think.

Yes. However the price point is too high to gain widespread acceptance.
