This is going to be fun. Thank you MK! For those thinking of pulling the trigger, let me say I ordered these on what -- Friday? -- and they were shipped by Monday; he made them over the weekend, posting pictures at every stage. I paid a tiny bit extra for the exposed blades, but $250 flat for two handmade pickups you can't get anywhere else, and with that kind of communication and quality, is pretty amazing. Can't wait to try them out.

I have a 5-string bass with P2 size pickups and 18 mm string spacing at the bridge. The bass has a naturally bright timbre with a high mid emphasis. What magnet type and wind configuration would be best for a high output pickup with a good low mid presence to add a little more meat and growl to the tone?

High output / low / mid = Neodymium

Single coil will have more punch
Humbucker will have a bit meat

These were designed for a friend of mine Dean currently playing with Nita Strauss and also Prong. He was tired of the Bart sound and wanted something that was powerful and no battery

I like the looks of that. Just checked the Ibanez website and it looks like the BTB has 19mm spacing.
I imagine getting a set made for 18mm spacing wouldn't be a problem?

1/4th of a millimeter per string should not be a problem.
The two left and two right slugs can be moved in when holes are cut for 18mm

Audio or even better video would be appreciated. The Neo EBO on the 916 pickups YouTube is just a down and dirty video that has been very helpful. No crazy production value necessary.

Two of these were built, one is already on its way to @58kites and this one is ready to ship out in trade for test/review. Just looking for honesty. If you test and don't like something constructive criticism is helpful. Trying to see if A5/Neo is beneficial to tone / output / overall sound. The Neos attached are relatively small. If not much is noticable larger Neos could be used. Just wanted to add to the original without totally changing the basic sound
