Terrorist Attack in Glasgow

Ive not seen a deep fried mars bar in about 10 years, very 1996 :p

I hate to admit it but my local chippy will deep fry anything you ask for! Well within reason, I always wanted to ask for some fried Malteesers

But seriously Burk that is the biggest insult to Scottish people being banded in with England. Its not that we hate England in general but we are a country in our own right. Its like calling Canadians Americans :rollno:

I disagree. Canada is located in/on the contitnent of North America, as is Mexico. I've heard Mexican nationals refer to themselves as being from/living in America. I realize continents & countries is apples & avocadoes & that most Canadians do not want to be thought of as American, but from a geographical POV, they(Canadians)are 'American'.
:ninja:
Watch for the lockup, now...

3) The US did not fund the IRA. Some trendy stupid "cause of the month liberals" who live in the US did. You have every right to be furious with them.:hmm:

I wouldn't describe hard working and impassioned Irish Americans as 'trendy', 'stupid' and especially not liberal. There's two sides to that story buddy. I wouldn't dream of going further with the IRA issue without starting a new thread, which of course would get shut down after two posts.:D
Carry on....

Oh, and being Irish, I've learned to never confuse the English with the Scots, especially when the Scots are wielding large telephone poles while wearing skirts.:hiding:

And meanwhile these freaks continue to attempt to blow up innocents.

But they didn't manage it!!

So in all the attempts over the weekend - the only person hurt, was one of the bombers who set fire to himself according to some witnesses!! :p

Hardly classifies as an "innocent" , I think...:eyebrow:

What track would that be?

I was in a train which was seconds away from an IRA bomb that exploded at London Bridge station and the IRA bombed Thatcher in my home town - blew up the Grand Hotel!!

The IRA got much closer and did more damage than any Muslim terrorists!! :hmm:

I took my American girlfriend to England once and we went driving around London at night, nice time to visit, no traffic, everything all lit up and pretty... well, we went up Whitehall and I pointed out Downing Street... next morning it was on the news that the IRA had attacked #10 with mortars shot out of the roof of a van... she was so scared, she thought WW3 had started.

Life goes on my dear... life goes on....

Yes, it is amazing how different countries / cultures react to terrorist incidents in different ways.

Give them time and I'm sure that will change. Not even going to bring up the 'scoreboard' of atrocities that both the Irish and the English have committed against each other. Nor will I publicly comment on my own families connection to that era.
Sorry to derail the thread..........

I see that the bombs in London were put in Mercedes cars,

and the Glasgow airport thing was done with a Cherokee,

Maybe the bombers just hate Daimler-Chrysler.

Ha!

....sadly for the cause of this joke, Daimler has divested itself of Chrysler recently.

...and as a former resident of Scotland (I lived in Ayr-By-The-Sea, my sister was born in Edinburgh), I'm very happy to see that no Scots were harmed during this cowardly attack. I'm also not at all surprised by the reaction of the baggage handlers - I would recommend that any future would-be terrorists on the island of Great Britan not make the mistake of angering those to the northern areas, they're not known for being understanding or patient when threatened or provoked (not that attacking the southern area is acceptable, mind you). ;)

...one could end up experiencing a telephone pole enema...

:D
