I can't believe I'm not already in this club.

I don't have any Acoustic products anymore. But for a loooooong time, they were my mainstays.

Back in the early '80's I had an SVT that I got re-tubed and it never sounded right to me again. It turned out that the tone I liked it for was actually a symptom of what was wrong with it. So when it was fixed I didn't want it anymore. So I sold it...

And I got an Acoustic 360/361 rig. I loved it. It had a tone more like what I'd liked fropm the SVT before the new tubes. And it was waaaaaaay lighter. And it was great to make that deep sound out in the audience while it was still manageable onstage.

Eventually I sold it. Then I went in the Navy. But shortly after I got out, I was at the grand opening of the first Guitar Center in north Texas and they had Acoustic amps for killer prices...because the company had just gone out of business. They'd bought the whole stock and were blowing them out. I bought an Acoustic B4 head (normally around $1,050) for about $200. I'd recently found an Acoustic TC-210p (2x10 cab with internal 400W amp) and a Randall 2x15 cab. The three of them became my rig for several years until near the time my old band finally died.

I thought all the new acoustic was osb?

It looked more like MDF when I was rebuilding it. Which is probably why the head was torn off from the rest of the cab. Shipping is very unforgiving and that's a heavy head held by nothing but MDF. :scowl:

I prolly missed it in your post somewhere - but how're you handling the jack to the cab? Do you also have a parallel jack for additional cabs too?

Here's what I did with it.

Long read but, basically the amp head has a crossover mounted on a board. I moved the crossover board to the cab. The speaker extension jack in the cab is in parallel with its input jack.

Used my 260 mini stack at a gig for the first time last night. I have to say I am nothing but pleased. With the volume knob set at 9:00 O'Clock it cut through two guitars, three vocalists, hand percussion and a drum kit, without any trouble at all. In fact I was asked to turn down my stage volume by the soundman between sets so he could get me into the mains more! My ears are happy, and so is my back.

Finally got an account. Hi guys. Picked up my 200h about 6 months ago and fell in love. Been running it with this 1x15, sometimes with another 1x15, and sometimes with a 4x10 + 1x15. In any situation it's sounded awesome.

Here is the picture of my new baby!!! Although I love my B200, it has nothing compared to the B600H with the 410's. I got to play her live the another day and she shook the stage big time!!!! The response is so much fuller and quicker than the B200.

My B200 seems a little sloppy. Is it just me having a new toy or does anyone else feel the same with a 15 compared to 410's?

Thanks buddy! I'm trying to track down some more vintage Acoustic stuff, preferably a 2x15 to go with it. There is a 401 cab around the area that I've been eyeing up for a little while, but I feel like I'd have to get rid of another cab first, just to make the misses feel a little better ahah

I've used mine on 2 o'clock for a while now too, it adds a little more of a 'oomph' to my ears at least, and pushes the fuzz that I put through it a little better

Just sold an "as new" 220 amp on the Bay. I used to run this through the 408. Amazing sound but I had to move on. Thought I would pass this little Acoustic story along. In the mid 60's I saw Slade playing in the UK and the bass player, among many other speakers was running one of the Acoustic 18 inch folded horns. I don't recall the model but it preceeded the 408. Anyway, he had in mounted on its side on top of a bunch of other cabs. During the performance he walks back to his stack and shoves his head into the folded 18 inch cab. Presumably he couldn't hear it from the front of the stage! I'm guessing his hearing is not what it once was.

hmmmmm. sounds kinda weird because acoustic didn't make any amps in the mid 60's. the 360(preamp)/301 (powered 18" cab) debuted in 1968. after that the 18" 301 folded cab was unpowered and was paired with their 370 heads in 1972.

oops. yes that's correct. i used to refer to my 360/361 rig as a '360' (or a 361).
